not being multilingual actually makes you quite dumb.
Most middle and higher income families in TN ensure kids learn three languages English , Tamil and either Hindi or German or Chinese Mandarin etc.
Lower income facilities unfortunately tend to believe the charlatan politicians and get stuck with only Tamil and automatically jeopardise their potential.

It is frustrating to see extremely intelligent kids doing menial work only because they didn’t learn a second third or fourth language.

Up to the age 8, additional languages actually do not stress most well nutritioned kids.
