Irom Sharmila, Anna Hazare

I was reading a Wikipedia article on Irom Sharmila which says that she didn't eat and drink for ten years. Is it really true? How can one survive without eating and drinking for so long? It's impossible.

My other question is that during the fast did Anna Hazare also abstain from both eating and drinking?

Irom Sharmila Chanu (born March 14, 1972), also known as the "Iron Lady of Manipur" or "Menghaobi" ("the fair one")[1] is a civil rights activist, political activist, and poet from the Indian state of Manipur. Since 2 November 2000, she has been on hunger strike to demand that the Indian government repeal the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act, 1958 (AFSPA), which she blames for violence in Manipur and other parts of India's northeast.[2] Having refused food and water for more than ten years, she has been called "the world's longest hunger striker".[3]

I'm sorry I don't agree on this. A person cannot survive without food and water for that long. Scientifically, it's absolutely impossible. TEN years!!!

Yes, she is being forced fed now. But what about the ten years fast when was, as claimed by various websites, not eating or drinking anything. That's totally false. A person cannot survive for that long with complete fasting.
