Have IRIAF MIG-29 got something like MIG-29M/M2/SMT's ADS Talisman ECM pods? The above pic is from MIG-29 simulator at Shahid Sattari Air University which shows the HMI panel with something like ECM control reembling that of Talisman.

They were not very long ago installed on SyAAF MIG-29M2/SMT fleet by a private Belorussian/Russian contractor to save them from IAF's attacks. The device is a very modern active ECM system against ARH/SARH tracking.

Only info is that someone attended the exhibition and they got this name. Weapon is BVR for Kowsar since it can not lift the monstrous Fakour-90.

Iranian approach to creating modern missiles out of old ones can be seen in this video where old Maverick's entire electronics are replaced by modern digital ones and a modern CCD seeker. The lock range is enhanced by 3 times.

CCD Seeker calibration with changing Angle of attack because of 3D degree of freedom.

Considering that Azarakhsh All aspect Sidewinder Program is also using CCD seekers, if they try that on AIM-7E2 airframe with:

- New motor like they did with M112=>M118 (name??) motor in Fakour-90 to enhance range upto ~80 KM
- ARH or CCD guidance or Dual
- Complete modern electronics
- ECCM (like in Fakour-90)

Such a system will be better than AIM-7M which is the ultimate weapon of sparrow family. it will be equal to I-Derby ER or R-77ER.

I see no similarity, but they showed the ECM simulator of several aircrafts:

If there is an e-warfare simulator, there must be an e-warfare package present. Which e-warfare package the MIG-29 fleet is using for which the simulator is being used for training? Our 9.12s had none mounted.

The one I noticed is IRIAF SU-24MK "e-warfare simulator".

ADS Talisman applies to SU-24, SU-25, YAK-131, and MIG-29 and is supplied by a Russian front company in Belarus. If Sy-AAF can have it on their MIGs, IRIAF can bargain a deal too. The system takes no additional pylon.

Related, a new wingtip mounted ECM Pod is being tested on a F-5F 3-7170 Testbed. Never been seen before in any airshow or exhibition.

That is not from Mig29,it is cocpit of SU 24,but it should be compatibile with MIG 29 if it is something like Talisman

Can be working towards Direction-finding mode at a higher distance from the target or one can be tasked with detection (ESM) while the other is jamming (ECM) the source. ESM+ECM is a rather advanced system of E-warfare considering that such an aircraft can share the tracking data with other fighters, HIMAD batteries, UCAVs who then start using their own ECM on the target to completely blind it.

Rumor has it that there has been a demand in IRIAF for dedicated modern e-warfare platforms, probably due to experiences gained in the Israel-Syrian theatre and now Russia in Ukraine. Apparently, there was even a specific section within IRIAF that wanted F-14AM to be converted into AWACS+E-warfare jets, possibly on the lines of F-18G Growler. My assumption is that this has manifested in Kowsar being more ECM+TDL+E-Warfare loaded than anything else. While the current IRIAF is a joke of a force if we compare it with other branches, it might transform into a smart force in the future if it keeps on integration with GWACS + IADS with Datalinking, e-warfare etc.

It was unveiled in October 2020, and called ATMF-90B, powered by an M190 rocket-motor instead of its predecessors M-112.

I`ve just realised that this pod has what looks to be a small circular gps type antenna fitted to it,this is the small black object at the front of the pod in the first pic that I posted.
The only other thing that stands out is the vertical blade type antenna.We`ve previously seen similar types of antennas fitted to the underside of the wings of the ababil 3/4 and mohajer 6 as well as also to the underside of the kaman 12 airframe.

well hope the war in Ukraine and failure of Russian Air force there taught the supporter of missile-Drone combo only that SEAD is a most and airplane like F18-G Growler a necessity in modern warfare
if you can't silence enemy air-defense and radar your air-force and drone force are not able to operate freely and your missiles are prey to enemy air-defense

maybe , my assumption was the inside of the pods are the same electric al system , now looking at them they seem fairly small wonder what if they actually are two different pod that use the same shell for convenience.
wonder if there is a close photo of them with marking on them visible
