Thats amazing strike with such precision. Congrats to our scientists and engineers, brave sons of our land. Politics and tactics of Iran wont let this happen but such strikes with atypical warhead lets say 3rd-4th generation acetylcholinesterase inhibitor will choke down large masses of enemy in its strong hold. IRGC Missile command can unleash that hell upon enemies but ISIS presence favors Iran ... thats another debate.

What I find amusing is that some bedoo Commander earlier this year said that their billions of dollars worth american purchased system intercepted only 36 of Borkan houthis ballastic missiles which are most local modified yemeni army soviet supplied scuds (Iraqi style modification with elongated fuel tank is happening inside Yemen, there are facilities as per independent research). Same sources said that atleast half of the strikes have been intercepted which bring the numbers to 80+ total BM strikes of Borkan, Tochka and Tondar-69 BMs with success rate of almost 50 %.

Low apogee and Quasi S/T-BM with separating RV (Zolfaghar) is ideal to develop more on basis of experiences gained by IRGC against these expensive American AD systems if fired from Yemen into Saoodi land. This is a possibility because research on solid fueled guided quasi BM's in form of Fateh missile never ceased to exist and it manifested into Fateh-313 SBM, Persian Gulf AShBM, Hormoz AR-BM, and Zolfaghar ... all of them have different guidance (e.g EO/TV in persian gulf). Early generation Fateh-110 need to be flown against whatever AD system saoodi purchased from USA. Research is still going on this family of SRBMs, if tested and probed against USA supplied AD of saoodi, Zolfaghar has potential to evolve into our own version of mighty Iskander.

Congrats to our engineers once again.

Btw its good to know that Finless Qiam is being used.

6 missiles were supposedly launched.

But footage that has been released showing only 4 targets hit. What happened to the other two missiles? Missed target?

Its either that not all missiles hit their target or Iran drones only captured footage of 4 strikes in total with the others hitting their targets but not being caught on film.

Well actually many are saying the impact shown is for 1 missile but honestly it's likely Iran only had 1 UAV in the area so it couldn't capture video of all the missile strikes.

Or they just haven't been made public yet.

Such a strike is way too important for Iran to not have drone assets in place to capture video for later analysis. So that theory is unlikely. They probably have the footage just not released.

Maybe the missiles that missed their target were Qiam missiles. Nonetheless, 4 out of 6 is a 67% success rate. But that's not necessarily a true success rate as the missiles did not have To go up against any ABM's. And if they used GLONASS/GPS and still missed that's not good. Because the use of either system in a war time scenario is not a given.

Will have to wait for more details, but all the R&D that has gone in to making Iranian missiles more accurate instead of working on range or new classes of missiles makes you wonder if iran can define this as success.

Top Daesh Commander Killed in Iran’s Missile Attack (+Videos)

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – A high-ranking Daesh commander was among the terrorists killed in Deir ez-Zor after Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) launched missiles at the Takfiri group’s headquarters in the eastern Syrian city.

According to local reports, missiles fired from Iran’s soil at Daesh (ISIL or ISIS) command centers in Deir ez-Zor killed the deputy ringleader of the Takfiri terrorist group late on Sunday.

Identified as Sa’ad al-Husseini, better known by the nom de guerre Abu Sa’ad, the Daesh commander was a Saudi national, the reports added.

Last night, six missiles were fired from the IRGC aerospace force’s bases in Iran’s western provinces of Kermanshah and Kurdistan.

The missile raid was in retaliation for a recent terrorist attack in Tehran claimed by Daesh.

Videos of the missiles being launched from Iran’s western province of Kermanshah show the roaring projectiles until the moment of impact.

During the operation codenamed ‘Laylat al-Qadr’, the IRGC fired six missiles, including Zolfaqar, a mid-range high-precision ballistic missile, at various targets in Deir ez-Zor within a range of 650 to 700 kilometers.

Who is "many"?

That would mean Iran has achieved the technology to have Its missile carry 4 or 5 independently targeted re-entry vehicles.

I'm skeptical, unless only one or two of the missiles was carrying that type of technology in order to do real time battlefield testing. But again has Iran unveiled such a technology?

Two of the videos show the rentry vehicle hitting the target, the other two show footage after the fact.

Iran probably has significant drone assets in Syria, if it could manage to allow one of its PMU factions to have drone cover.

So this notion that one of the most important external Iranian military operations in 15 years they manage to just send one drone to the town is a bit unrealistic.
