Iraqis in uproar after Grand Mufti issues anti-Christmas fatwa

Sunni Islam is the core Islam and Shia's(as an example, there are more) have deviated in some ways from the core Islam. Having images of the Prophet or the Sahabah is not permitted, especially since people will worship these pictures or have wrong feelings towards them. There is no disagreement about this in Islam. There are also other ways in which your sect has deviated, and we hope they abandon those deviations one day.
you call shias a deviant sect but ironically it is the innovation of the wahhabis that images of the prophet are not allowed, nothing in the quran says that.

not that i care, i'm not a muslim; just pointing out your hypocrisy and sectarian bs.

1.) There's no such thing as 'Wahabi's'. That is term Shia's use against Saudi's because they hate Saudi's so much. Also, one of God's names is 'Al-Wahab' mind you.

2.) Islam is not only the Quran, it includes the Ahadeeth and Sunnah. Yes it is forbidden 100%. There were no images of the Prophet in early generations, even later generations of Islam. He forbade them and it was forbidden in Muslim empires.

...
...

So there's no 'hypocrisy' on my part. You can't reject the Ahadeeth and Sunnah and claim others are being hypocrites. There's a reason all early generations of Muslims emphasized the Ahadeeth and Sunnah, because it was meant to be that way.

PS: I don't dislike Shia's, but you guys really got slow down the sectarian stuff because you see the current conditions as opportune. There are too many sectarian Shia guys here like Ceylal and Bakh spewing garbage left and right. Trying to equate Saudi Arabia with Israel and that we should all be enemies of them is not acceptable. You can have your influence in Muslim world if you earn it and do it the right way. That way is not good.

i guess wahhabism doesnt exist and its founder al-wahhab didn't either?

there was no hadith in early generations or at time of mohammad either, and even now nobody can agree on which hadith is accurate. only i dont have to tell you that the quran doesn't prohibit such images.

PS. Who is "you guys", I just told you I am not shia. I am not responsible for what the others do. KSA are puppets of the US and allying with the Zionists in Israel, that is just a fact. You don't set the conditions for influence; Islam does not belong to you.

The flash of civilizations as foretold by many cultures and clairvoyant visionaries like Nostradamus is being fought out in the middle east and will grow from there to engulf most of Asia and Europe. And it's epicenter will be from the cradle of civilizations.

Iraq.

I am simply morbidly fascinated by this whole thing happening in front of our eyes.

This is epochal history our generations are living through, and many of us will die in.

The battle lines are still.murky and the forces of the world still jostling for their launch footholds.

5 years. Max 10.

That's how long humanity has.

Cheers, Doc

He did not invent a sect, he wanted the rulers of his country to implement Islam. Nothing more than an influential figure, although his influence is exaggerated today.

Ah, yes there was, and yes there is methodology to determine authenticity of Hadeeths.

KSA is allied with the US, you make it sound like that is disbelief. Iran was at one time a big ally of the US and bought weapons from Israel during the Iraq-Iran war. I don't make outrage over the fact that you were allies with the US or equate that with disbelief. You can disagree with allies and still be allies. Al-Saud are no extraordinary Muslims, and neither are the rest of the Muslim regimes. You have a double standard for Saudi's.

And no, it is has no alliance or relations with Israel. You need to step foot into KSA and see what its like.

Btw, I'm well known here as one who opposes majority of regimes in the Muslim world. Including the Saudi one. Unlike many of you I don't have a double standard for one country or people. And I bash Sunni Muslims a lot for not observing Islam at the extent they should be. And I will continue to bash all parties.

I sense a lot of sympathy for the Saudi-Wahhabi sect of Islam.

There were hadiths from the time of mohammad and not from hundreds of years later??

What is that "methodology" and what is the origin/justification of it (that's news to me)?

Iran was once allies of convenience with Israel just as KSA is now. There is no double standard here.

I think it is regrettable than Iran and KSA have bad relations, but I put most of the blame to KSA. Iran has constantly asked for talks and good relations whilst KSA does nothing but refuse to even talk and just ask the US behind the scenes to invade Iran and al jubeir (now demoted the piece of shit) goes around crying that Iran is worse than nazi germany.

it's KSA that gave Saddam $80 billion to fund his invasion of Iran in the 80s, KSA that funded and armed jihadists in syria to overthrow the syrian govt, KSA that militarily intervened in Bahrain to brutally suppress democratic protests in the minority sunni dictatorship, KSA that leads the charge against hezbollah, the biggest enemies of israel and defenders of lebanon, KSA that funds terrorism on iran's borders, KSA that invades yemen and massacres tens of thousands of civilians and creates the largest humanitarian crisis in the world, should i go on?

Well, that depends.

If you mean a 'Christian' Christmas (the birth of Jesus Christ), then only religious Christians celebrate that.
If you mean an 'American' Christmas (Ho! Ho! Ho! Merry Christmas! / Santa Clause) then many people, Christians and non-Christians, celebrate that.

When I look at the pictures, I see an 'American' Christmas.
This is the result of American soft power.

Santa Claus is actually modelled after the Swedish ”Tomten” but adapted to fit the Coca Cola commercial where it appeared for the first time. They guy creating the figure had Swedish ancestry, so it is really Swedish folklore spreading across the world

This is how the ”real thing” looks like.

Nordic Countries does not celebrate Christmas, they celebrate Yule which
is a pagan festivity based around Dec 22, the darkest day of the Year.
Christian monks started to hijack the festivities by adding Christian properties.
Amongst other things, they wrote to the Pope requesting that he’d state the Jesus was born at that holiday, so that they could appropriate the festivity.
Christmas was not celebrated in Christianity until the Nordic countries were christened and since they could not get rid of the festivities, they had to make it a Christian habit.

Yule was always about food, and lots of beer.
Presents were not a big thing, except for the bowl of porridge you had to provide to Tomten on the night between the 24th and the 25th.
Tomten was a grumpy old guy which took care of your farm, but if you did not offer him this small token of gratitude, you would be in a lot of trouble. Cows would stop to provide milk, crops would fail, your house might burn down, just because all the small things he normally did to protect you, would no longer happen.
The word Tomten has a dual meaning, where the other meaning is the land area of your farm.

Correct, it's American christmas theme being displayed in many nations around the world. In America, Christmas is mostly about shopping(big sales), getting together with family and exchanging gifts. I don't know where Christmas originates or if it even was a thing in early Christianity. I don't think it was ever a thing. Same with Muslims who celebrate the Prophet's birthday. You're not supposed to do that under any circumstance.

Regarding Christmas as a modern holiday, Middle Eastern states should make it a national holiday. For Arab Christians it is more a religious thing/meeting up at Church rather than Santa costumes and what not. I think the Mufti struggled to explain himself, and probably is referring to the Santa costume stuff or other cultural norms arising that are more related to American themed Christmas.

oh look here, we got an ISIS jihadi here from belgium, or are you in turkey now? lol

You still alive?.......not for long though.

Astaghfirullah shame on those who have brought intoxicants among the Ummah in order to create division and to abuse the Sunnah of our beloved prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam! This is the works of the atheist kaffir majoosi Persian Shi'a to do the works of Shaytan to weaken the Muslim world! Give respect for the the message of Allah subhanahu wa taala! The kaffir are misguided dogs who inshallah will suffer painful torment in the hereafter, but the Shi'a are much worse as they are ones who have corrupted the deen. As sheikh ul Islam the great Ibn Taymiyyah (may Allah subhanahu wa taala have mercy on his soul and his family) states the Shi'a are worse for Islam than the crusaders and Mongols and even the Christians and Jews and even polytheist have a better chance to enter jannah than the Shi'a. Please my brothers who follow the Sunnah, raise your army against the Shia and end these people who are destroying the image of Islam and forcing many to leave the faith, but Alhamdulillah Islam is the truth so no matter how much you want to spread the lies of the kaffir Islam is the fastest growing religion in the world! Alhamdulillah I am the true follower of message of Rasoolallah sallallahu alaihi wasallam awaiting jannah while the followers of the filthy way of shaytan will burn forever in jahanam.

Mufti is right. It's haram for Muslims to celebrate Christmas of any other religion's festival. I don't even say merry Christmas to anybody, I just say have a happy holiday instead.
