Iraqi forces 'launch major Kirkuk operation'

Peshmerga flees, PKK takes over Kurdish 'command' of the Kirkuk operation

Army aviation deployed already ISOF to K1 AB

Yes but they're MI-17's for utility/transport so far as we know, no MI-28 or MI-35 seen so far. Assault helicopters would destroy Kurdish morale far more, although has more risk during daylight.

Where are the Russian T-90's, they're taking too long, would come in handy

Fighting over the scraps of what is left of Iraq. Hopefully the Iraqi army are able to end this conflict swiftly.

Conducting this operation whilst a small IS part remains has a good reason, now the US/global powers cannot simply abandon Baghdad if they decide to side with Kurds, although they didn't side with Kurds.

Abadi is smart, he knows what he does

Good point. Seems like Barzani was expecting a lot more foreign support than actually appeared. Otherwise he would not have dared taken such a big step.
