Pretty much every competent Arab force in the region is either trained, advised or allied to Iran. You trying to paint this as some kind of Arab victory is the most laughable thing I've read in this thread. It has been Iran who propped up Baghdad's defenses when IS stood at the gates of the capital. It has been Iran who set up Hezbollah and Iraqi Shia militias, transforming them into effective forces.
That is why all the Kurds are crying now that Qasem Soleimani has unleashed his proxy forces at them, begging for American help.
Either way. Iran has out manevouered the western-led project to turn the entire region into small sectarian and ethnic enclaves.
This victory belongs mainly to Iraq, Iran and Turkey. The losers are the Israelis, Americans and Gulf Arabs.
