Iraq crisis: Indian nurses freed by ISIS militants to reach Kochi tomorrow

That was one heck of a breather! Congratulations to the government's Crisis Management Team. Sushma and Ajit pulled up a helluva feat. PM Modi must be all smiles.

Our prayers have been answered.

The ISIS has released all the hostages now.

I really hope the Navy pulls out all our folks from there.

Jaan hai to jahaan hai.

10,000 of our people are working there. They can apply for jobs here.

But this situation has only proved that ISIS has spared us since we are a non-target.

Doval should not take this lightly and neither should the tri-services. Once all the Indians are back in our country, there must be a serious military preparation and re-inforcement of defence intelligence to see if ISIS is planning to target specific areas. J&K will be a Sunni vs Shia nightmare and with NaMo's plan to help KPs return, Jihad is the last thing we need.

Ofcourse they would release the Indian nurses. They can't ignore the wishes of their masters.

What have we got to do with ISIS?

It is your inter-Ummah problem. In fact, Pak military should take serious steps to stop this because it is dangerous more for you lot since you are an Islamic state. Formenting sectarian violence would be a bloodbath in your country.

Though Iran will deal with this with an iron fist, you never can be too sure about anything these days.

Ignore them, they hate each other. Sunni is scoring points over Shia and vice versa.

We have got our citizens back, that is more important.

With media having priorities right our governments are more accountable unlike them who can disown their own with no one even raising the concern.

What do you think will be the reinforcements that Jaitley, NaMo, Doval and Rajnath implement? Preparing to fight against a possible jihad by these lunatics should be on the card in case they dare come this side.

It is because of the skill of narendra modi that he saved these Indians.
How? What did he do? :pop:
Also in this case the terrorist were Iraqis sunnis and not Pakistanis.
Son when were you born? Or its just ignorance? Pakistanis are mixed Sunni, Shia and many other sub divisions...yet freeing "innocent" Indians (who are not Muslims) is not suspicious to you? :pop:
if it was pak sunnis then it was curtains for these Indians.
What curtains?
shia and ahmadi are being killed in their homes by sunnis.
Apparently you have not been following recent events:

Or maybe its just blind eye worshiping of Indian media :)

Iraq crisis: Indian nurses freed by ISIS militants to reach Kochi tomorrow

New Delhi: In a sigh of relief for the Narendra Modi-led government at the Centre, Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) militants on Friday set free the 46 Indian nurses, who were confined in Iraq's Mosul city.

Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, who met External Affairs Minsiter Sushma Swaraj this morning confirmed the development saying that nurses held by Sunni insurgents in Iraq are to be taken to an airport, apparently to fly them to India.

"The nurses are being taken to the Erbil airport," Chandy said.

Meanwhile, reports said that the nurses, who would be reaching Erbil later today, will be flown to Kochi tomorrow.

Report also said that a special flight will be leave for Erbil airport from New Delhi's IGI airport at 5 pm today to bring back the stranded nurses.

Two officials from Central and Kerala government respectively will be on board the special flight from the national capital.

Earlier, the nurses who were forcibly moved by suspected Sunni militants from Tikrit reached the Iraqi city of Mosul Thursday night.

Meanwhile, one of the 46 nurses from Kerala has spoken to her mother and said all of them were safe.

The government has formed a crisis management group to handle the situation. The group is headed by Sushma Swaraj and Intelligence Bureau, RAW and NSA chiefs are part of the group.

A total of 25 Indian officials are now deployed in four Iraqi cities - Baghdad, Najaf, Basra and Karbala - to oversee the rescue of stranded Indians.

MEA spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin yesterday said that so far about 900 Indians had been provided air ticket to leave Iraq.

A total of 1,500 Indians were registered with Indian authorities to leave Iraq.

Some Indians working in Iraq had not decided whether they want to leave or not. "We are committed to helping every Indian national," the spokesman said.

The plight of Indians stranded and held captive in Iraq since the Sunni insurgents started seizing Iraqi territory has emerged as the first major crisis for the Narendra Modi government.

principally! even this is concerning..........u dont know for sure where this seemingly minor co-operating leads to. We should not be complacent abt this.
Of course it is, I am sure concerned authorities have already started taking their notes .

.
My hatredness for Sushma has gone down a little bit after this. Good Job Auntyji.

. . . . . . .
Even if we know that NSA is involved. In MEA spkeperson pressconference a journalised again asked the real role of NSA.Well they know the back up of intelligence agencies and MEA repeated the presence of unconventional diplomatic methods in evacuation.
One nurse told to malayalam channel that they treat them nicely and they even took photograph with them.May be the human side of most ruthless terrorist organization or the influence of their top people.
Any way Thank you MEA.Thank you very much.

It might be since they are females , they're released?
What would happen if their would be a Indian Male wardboy among the group?
FYI
male nurses is also a part of that 46 nurses.

There are still some of our people stuck there, there are some 30 odd punjabi construction workers. (1 guy escaped recently while they were being transferred).

See here:
India Nurses Stranded in Iraq to Fly Home Saturday - ABC News

According to the foreign ministry, 39 Indian construction workers were abducted two weeks ago and were being held by the militants, but were safe and unharmed.
...
The abducted construction workers were mostly from northern states including Punjab and had been employed by the Tariq Noor al-Huda construction company.

I hope we can get them back soon too!
