I don't think they have any left.

They have hundreds in service/being restored to service.

Given the current inventory and purchases in a few years Iraq will end up with the following tank inventory.

125-140 upgrade T72M1s sights from the Abrams
125 M1A1 Abrams with new Thermal sights from Leonardo DRS
150 T90S or MS MBTs newly delivered from Russia

Still leaves a gap of about 500 to 600 tanks per army general statements.

the official facebook page of General Emad Al Zuhairi mentioned in passing that Iraq's order for equipping 4 armoured and mechanised divisions with weapons from China were cancelled by parliament and he bitterly accused parliament of being traitors working for neighbouring countries. He called on for the establishment of a separate fund for weapons purchases independent from parliament... (won't happen).

Is General Emad Al Zuhairi a credible person in Iraq? Which neighbouring countries he has indicated? Iran?

I don't know about his credibility but he is right our parliament is a joke they work for all our neighbors especially the gcc

Also kurds always veto any armament purchase simply they afraid we use them against them.
