Iranian minister of Defense Brigadier General Amir Hatami said the domestically-made, long-range air defense missile system “Bavar-373” will be displayed on August 22.

Brigadier General Hatami said the state-of-the-art air defense system will be displayed on the National Day of the Defense Industry, which falls on August 22 this year. He had said that the Defense Ministry would put on display some of the latest air defense achievements of the country on this occasion.

A feature of Bavar-373 is its vertical launching system with square launchers, mostly used for air defense on warships. Bavar-373 uses a long-range, phased array fire-control radar, dubbed Me’raj-4.

Bavar-373 is a long-range road-mobile surface-to-air missile system unveiled in August 2016. Iran describes it as a competitor with the Russian S-300 missile system.

In April 2015, Iran unveiled some of Bavar's subsystems, which include the Fakour commanding and smart control system which has the ability to collect information from all sources relevant to air defense, including passive and active military radars (such as the Mersad), signal surveillance, missile systems and commanding and control systems.

The Rasoul advanced communications system is for encoding information, connecting the country’s infrastructure and transferring radar information from the battle scene to commanding centers.

Bavar-373 will utilize Sayyad-4 missile, which are contained in two rectangular launch canisters. In fact, the air defense system employs three different types of missiles to hit targets at various altitudes.

No formal information was given about this missile but it appears from news photos that Sayyad-4 is similar to Sayyad-3 in wings and control surfaces, however, it varies lightly in frontal shape. Bavar-373 uses a phased array radar for tracking aerodynamic targets and ballistic missiles in medium to long ranges, mounted on the ZAFAR heavy truck. One of the radars used in Bavar-373 is Meraj (Ascension), a phased array radar with a range of 450 km which uses fuzzy logic techniques to spot targets. Meraj can track up to 200 targets simultaneously.

The canisters containing the Sayyad-4 missiles are to be carried on the Zoljanah 10×10 truck but pictures show they are also carried on semi-trailer.

well we worked on it to be S400 like, in terms of power and ABM capabilities. actually with Bavar-373 the number of our Air defense layer becomes 17 that wll makes us one of the superpowers in the filed of Air defense.

Thanks to skyshadow for the photos. Great to see the components of this huge system in an orderly fashion...Launchers, Radars, missiles(various types) and support trucks and carries. Is there a Command and Control truck!.

It would be even nicer if someone with good graphics skill can assemble the whole system in one unified depiction. I am hoping when the entire system is unveiled we may be able to see such a view of the whole system and its associated subsystems and hopefully some "marketing" animations. Such a great achievements require profession level PR so that we can counteract the upcoming negative propaganda that enemies are preparing to shoot down this system as they usually do with anything coming out of Iran.

PLS grow up we did not mock your Arrow 3. the only missile that may have been a copy of SM-1 was Sayyad 2 missile the first model that was almost 10 years ago.
This is Sayyad-2:

yes this is Sayyad 2M which is first generation after that came Sayyad 2C second generation which was much more advance then 2M and then after that came Sayyad 2A the third generation which was even more advance this model ( Sayyad 2A ) is used in Bavar 373 and after that came Sayyad 3C and after that Sayyad 3M came as the second generation of Sayyad 3 which i can not prove yet and after Sayyad 3C came Sayyad 4 which still is classified. so you see long way from Standard SM_1. and yes our missiles look like some of there foreign counterparts but that dose not mean they are the same as Standard SM_1 speed is mach 3.5 if im not wrong, but Sayyad 2A speed is well above mach 4.5

Sayyad 2M

Sayyad 3C

probably Sayyad 3M as they covered the serial number on the missile and that is the first time that Iran does that

4843096.jpg

Sayyad 4 which still is classified as you can see they covered the serial number on the missile so we do not know if there is a Sayyad 4M or Sayyad 4C or Sayyad 4A
