Iranians surround Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's car in poverty protest

. . . .
Which western leader would have confronted the people like this? In the USA - they would have been shot!

Shot? Say what you will about their International politics, western leaders carry themselves pretty well. Freedom of protests are an essential provision of democracy and we enjoy that to the fullest in the US and I am sure the UK too. So I am surprised at your statement.

It is another matter that people in the US don't protest against individual politicians. They protest against policies and ideologies, which is how it should be - address the issue, not the person.

He was married to Fatemeh Sadat Farahi on 12 June 1981 in Tehran.[179] Farahi was a classmate of Ahmadinejad when he studied at the Iran University of Science and Technology. They have three children, including one daughter, Fatemeh, and two sons, Mehdi and Alireza.[180] His older son, Mehdi, married the daughter of Ahmadinejad's chief of staff, Esfandiar Rahim Mashaei in 2007, and his younger son, Alireza, is married to the niece of former military general, Mahmoud Kaveh.[181] All of his children studied at the Amirkabir University of Technology (Tehran Polytechnic).[182] His son in law is Mehdi Khorshidi

I got this from Wikipedia which is a western source so I do not trust it. Can Iranian brothers confirm their President has only one wife and not hundreds of children please

Is this suppose to be a witty comment?? King Abdullah each year makes visits to random areas in the country where the people are poor and hear them out. He also when visiting cities make such visits mostly without cameras but those are hard to find here.

Simply Question ...

Can you speak against the King ? :azn:

There have been massive protest in Iran against Govt and not one person was shot ...

But we do know for certain the fate of those Saudi Arabian protesting against the regime , dont we ? :azn:

He meant the security apparatus in the west would not allow people to get to their leaders so close

It is an insult to the humble President to try and compare. Guys what will he do when he retires. Will he still be involved in Iranian govt somehow??

Well I was just trying to illustrate it to Mossa. Of course they are not comparable. How can you compare a guy who goes to a space launch center and presses the red button that takes Iran into space for the first time. What Abdullah has done to make Muslims proud? Standing side by side with Bush?

In one of his interviews, I guess it was with ABC the same question was asked and he said that he is missing the university and wants to go back to teach. Infact he has taken a leave from university and is still on their payroll and has stopped the salary of the office of the presidency so that when his term comes to an end, he still has his old job.

If a woman jumped on top of the car to confront the American leader - their would be no questions asked - gun out first and questions later. Be honest - if anyone even QUESTIONED the president without him having prior knowledge of what question he was going to respond to - it would not be permitted.

I don't think so,unless one of candidates of his party win the election.

There are some possibilities for next president,It can be Ghalibaf, current mayor of Tehran,Larijani, head of parliament,Salehi, current FM,Khatami, former president and the leader of reformists,or maybe some new guy suddenly show up and gain huge popularity, just like Ahmadinejad in 2005 elections.

These wahhabi hypocrite Saud feet-lickers are just jealous they can never have someone as highly educated, close to people, and simplistic as the Iranian president. They bring a few pictures to "prove" that they are right. What do they think of themselves, are they journalists or what? Nope, they are mere foot-lickers of Sauds... now go back to your foot licking!!

It is really a shame seeing people compare a humble ,just democratically elected president with a corrupt monarch plundering the wealth of the Saudi Arabia ... let me just say that , what has the world come to ? ... These Saudi Arabians cant even protest against the regime without getting shot by the National Guards yet ironically they are throwing insults and bitter jibes at people surrounding their leader :azn:

I think we should close this thread because it is an insult to the humble president as some people are comparing him to people that we should not as there is no comparison. I mean he has one wife and 3 children does that sound like a ME leader?

Ever seen the house of King Abdullah ? Even the American president would feel inferiority complex  **** what do i mean by house ? Even the " castle " would be a poor word to describe it ... Yet he advises all the Muslims to live in moderation ... Such hypocrite !

I am sure he only has one wife unlike some ( who have hundreds of illegitimate sons from dozens of wives - all those on active duty and reserve command  ) ... You know why ? Because he doesn't have money to afford more than one marriage ...

Not only that but also his wife is also a professor at university and still is teaching. See the difference. A working family. Have these monarchs in Persian GCC ever done any real work in their lives?

I agree. It is a very poor taste to compare him with monarchs who have thousands of concubines and tens of thousands of children.
