the stages , the pressure ratio how much trust it produce compared to the amount of fuel it consume .Yes is smaller, but that is because you are comparing two different class engine. F-110 is for heavy fighter jets. RD-33 is classified for lightweight fighter jet.
Do you consider the amount of heat that is produced in the F-110 vs RD-33? The alloys needed to protect the engine from such heat?
pure trust is not that important otherwise J-79 produce more trust(meanwhile consume more than twice the amount of fuel) but can you consider it more advance ? by the way I think you can consider last generation of RD-33 such RD-33MK as advanced or let say more advanced as it become digitized have more trust to weight ratio and have more service life and come with TVC and have lower Heat signature.
