Thanks! So it seems like they're just starting to employ carbon fibre in in minor, non-load bearing parts in their submarine designs. I wonder if they could use it in the construction of the main pressure hull. This carbon fibre is potentially a game changers for countries without deep metallurgical expertise, like Iran. But that's probably just wishful thinking on my part....

I think the Shiraz ship may just be a research ship and is not a warship. They did say not long ago they're working on a new research vessel bigger than the other one shown recently.
