the opening indicated by the arrow is still present !!
a couple of years ago I asked what it could serve, a user replied that it was probably needed to install large components inside the ship and once completed it would be closed.
But it is evident that it is still present, so inside of me I started to make some theories of its use; one that intrigued me is observing that it is positioned behind the canister of anti-aircraft missiles and I thought that this appertura is dedicated to the rearming operations by members of the crew of the canisters with reserve missiles after the others have been launched.
The opening when not used probably will be closed with a gate roll

1) is my hypothesis a completely absurd hypothesis?

2) or could it be plausible as a hypothesis?

3) do you have any other hypotheses for these opening in superstructure?

thank you

I'm very surprised to see that the Sahand is not equipped with the new ingenious radars that were mounted on the Damavand and later retrofitted on the Jamaran. There seems to be no FLIR ball mounted either.

It's likely that three other radars will be installed on Sahand.

the process of embedding weapons and radars on this ship has not yet been completed.

waiting for images of better quality.
Looking at these images, the dome is completely different from the AK-630, as is the Chinese version with a stealth dome

in this first photo, behind the CIWS, there is enough space to install a fire radar or an optronic system and in the underlying superstructure, it could be used by the rest of the radar equipment and by the military dedicated to their use

I think this CIWS system is nothing more than Fath-40 AAA 40mm gun in a stealth radome.

Welcome to what I have been saying for past 3 years. Iran’s Navy shipbuilding is pitiful.

But Iran is not going to build an unproven warship. It’s likely iran will wait to buy a few modern warships which it can then reverse engineer.

Iran's ship building is far from pitiful what's pitiful is the funding allocated to build Naval vessels and Iran's extremely low military budget.
The fact that a country the size of Iran spends nearly $10 Billion USD less than the UAE on it's Military is the real problem. Especially in a country that's capable of building over 97% of it's yearly allocations because the more you spend the more high end jobs you create and the more money you inject into the economy not the mention the R&D aspect that pushes the growth of technology, infrastructure including human infrastructure and skilled workers that will all eventually lead to a larger number of more advanced military and high end civilian products.

But what I can promise Iran will NOT do is purchase a new warships from another country! Because given Iran's own capabilities that would be absurd because the problem we have today when it comes to building larger ships is financial not technological or industrial!

.
Then it could only be Kamand CIWS! It is very similar to the stealth version of AK630 made by China.

Of the gatling type cannon it is impossible at the moment to know 100% what it is, since it is not possible to see the whole weapon, nor is it known in which caliber it is.
But if you look closely at the photos I posted on the previous pages, not even the stealth dome looks like the Chinese one,

but it's a completely new structure that does not look like any other

a curiosity, observing the turret, the Gatling in addition to having high angles of elevation, also has high angles in depression

You simply don’t understand basic concepts.

Turkey that has a GDP DOUBLE that of Iran has military budget of 13-14 billion. So Iran is actually well within simple economics for its military budget.

Iran recently hacked Australia’s Navy shipbuilder, why? Because it needs access to MODERN warship designs.

The fact that you think Iran can just simply enlarge the Mowj shows your lack of knowledge!

The Mowj is a 1960’s design, I don’t care how much lipstick you put on a pig, at the end of the day it is not a Victoria secret model! It is a pig!

And the thing you don’t understand about a country like UAE or Qatar or KSA is they have SMALL POPULATIONS but VERY LARGE income from oil/gas. Thus have a lot of extra money to spend. You can’t compare Iran to these countries.

Iran has a LARGE population and is under SEVERE sanctions. Furthermore, it had to spend BILLIONS to prop up Syria from falling during the foreign sponsored war.

So yes, Iran’s military is low compared to countries that have low expenditure, but high revenue. But compared to other countries (like Turkey) it’s well within reasonable.

If you expect Iran to build an armada or conduct a massive military build up, you are looking at the wrong country.

The thing holding Iran back is not money (IRGC is swimming in it from illegal activities). It is the factions of the republic and the rivalry between these factions. Until all factions get paid they will prevent the smallest change from happening within the republic least it help another faction become more powerful.

This is why Nazi Germany and Communist China were able to become so powerful so quickly. It was a one party system that squashed dissent and shared one ideology, one goal.

Iran in comparison is a hundred party system. It is even more dysfunctional than capitalistic and socialistic western countries.

Prior to 1979 Iran was pumping the most oil in its history at over 6 Million BPD. A feat never achieved during IRI even though more oil fields have come online and technology advancement has been rapid.

In 1979 China was one of the poorest countries in the world. 90% or 9 out of 10 people lived In poverty (less than 2 dollars a day). By 2012 that number fell to 6.5%

The thing holding Iran back from full potential is Iran itself. If the problems could magically be solved by increasing military budget, don’t you think Rahbar would do that? Or do you think you are the smartest Iranian on the planet and can lead Iran to greatness?

Iran buying a few destroyers from China or Russia to understand modern naval design is a drop in the bucket compared to expecting these Mowj ships to do anything besides be propaganda toys.

examples with proof?

It is not about number of oil fields.. It is about how old is an oil well.. The amount of oil extractable is more about the pressure of the well and as the oil ages the pressure falls.. This is why they inject a big part of the gas into the well to increase the pressure...so, even if Shah was here today the wells would react the same and would be very costy to expand new fields.. You need to be able to get partnerships with wealthy oil companies so they pay costs and take a share from sales

So they are just toys..

loose argument.. nothing to back it up with... Most countries who are becoming powerful and advanced in military hardware and production follow the same multi-party, multi-forces political systems... Iran is not in a stall situation.. Iran despite all hardships that no other countries ever received, made the decision.. There is a good part of Iran (non-reformists) who made their minds..

The first steps are always the hardest.. First steps are always taking more time to develop... First steps are taken by Iran.. The speed of innovation, self confidence and new, bold designs are underway... Despite all these, no body in Iranian military says no to new information hacked or bought from other modern designers... be it in form of hacking Australians or having people in Kiel, Germany where they are building Dolphin Submarines for Israel!! There are moments when designers in Iran feel stuck.. but don't worry... Limitation is always a bless in disguise..

I agree... The amount is acceptable and proportional..but It seem little for Iran..why? Because Iran is trying to equip all different factions of military forces at once and simultaneously... In many of these factions, Iran has almost nothing...

Good thing about Iran is that since the production costs are soooo cheap comparing to other countries, Iran can make many times more equipment for the same amount of money... Iran builds 10 billion dollars worth of military equipment with as little as 2 to 3 billion dollars.. so that means Iranian 13 billion dollar military budget has a PPP power of at least 50 billion dollars for Saudis
