Iranian Navy | News and Discussions

on this Telegram page of August 15, https://****/defender_iran/29270 a photo of a ship in the shipyard was posted
FhcSgUiWIAEG7v6.jpg

correlated with some news, on Telegram they wrote: " This ship is in the same class as the Shahid Rodaki, a RO-RO ship built by an Italian company, which it is currently being upgraded in the offshore industries dry dock.
Due to the fact that this vessel is of the same class as the Shahid Rodaki vessel, the user of this vessel is probably the IRGC Navy"

I ask users if anyone has further information on this ship, for example previous name or better IMO number or MMSI
Thanks in advance

in Venezuela the scrapping of the Lupo class frigates continues, after the F-26, now it's the turn of the F-25.

Also on this naval unit the OTO Melara 127/54 is in the process of being recovered, together with the ammunition loading system

and who knows if thanks to the already excellent collaboration this weapon system could be of interest to the Iranian military industry to arm future large destroyers, an industry that could recondition or decode them to make a 127/54 of Iranian production as already done with the compact 76/62 now produced as Fajr-27

Iran Army to hold “Zolfaqar-1401” drills as of tonight

170091830.jpg

The drills will be staged at Jask and to the east of Strait of Hormuz in southern Iran and will be extended to 10 degrees north of Indian Ocean, the commander said at a news conference on the Army maneuver.

Ground, air, and naval forces of the Army will attend the joint maneuver to show self-confidence, power and sustainable security.

The commander referred to upgrading the forces’ skill in carrying operations in special environments as one of the main objectives of the drills.

He underlined that the Army maneuver is aimed at reminding the regional countries that the peace will be brought to the region only through regional capacities and unity.

History has proved that the ultra-regional players are after war and insecurity, he underlined.

Then, the commander stressed that the exit of extra-regional countries, including the US and the UK, from the region will ensure stability.

Zolfaqar-1401 is planned to show ineffectiveness of the arms embargo against the Islamic Republic Iran.

Even the Russians have become interested in how former merchant ships are transformed in Iran to carry out various military missions.
In this article the " Shahid Bagheri "

The shahid bagheri is having what appears to be a very comprehensive series of major modifications performed on both its external and internal hull structure. It looks like the level of the deck has been raised and the internal vehicle access to the top open deck has been deleted.
Plus of course, you have what looks an awful lot like a vtol/vstol flight deck being grafted onto the side of the ship.
It certainly stands in very stark contrast to the rather basic set of modifications performed by the navy on the makran, but then again it could be said that the makran was only ever just intended to be a big floating fuel tank and stores carrier for the blue water warships on long deployments, and one that also had to be rushed into service as quickly as possible owing to the untimely and unexpected loss of the kargh. The sad thing is of course,is that it could`ve been so much more than that with just a little bit more effort, still who knows what the future may hold.If the navy turns out to be serious about naval drone carriers then the makran wouldnt be a bad place to start.
One could imagine a proper flight deck complete with elevators rather than the simple basic landing pad that it has now,and underneath the flight deck you would of course have a proper hanger deck for both helos and drones.

Is it only me who’s in awe of this whole thing?

this photo leads us to think of many hypotheses and many doubts about how it will actually be at the end of the work. That bridge only on one side and in that position it would cause an imbalance of the ship, it would seem logical to think that that bridge will also be positioned on the other side and the flight deck could then extend from the command superstructure to the bow. The construction of hangars to house UAVs and helicopters above this bridge perhaps in front of the command superstructure or forward

Do you think the chamber has hydraulics underneath to simulate the ships rocking in storms? Also, is the room a sterile area? I ask because they seem to be wearing some kind of slipper meant either to protect the floors from scratches by boots or maybe maintain some form of a clean environment?
