it seemed that they wanted to present this upgrade as soon as possible, they did not have time to paint the desert camouflage of the launch containers in naval gray.

Though if we look at the TEL of the land version, if there are no problems with the weight up, it might be possible to double the number of ready-made air defense systems on the Sahand 74 light frigate from 4 to 8.

wonder why they can't put them in upright position behind the fajr cannon above the deck . by that they can launch them faster and they don't need to use the erector mechanism which probably is as heavy as the missiles , there really is not much there, only some rope and hoses

I did not like the way Iran installed the radar and defense system
But this gives us an idea of the technical development and future projects
I think after a few years, 4,5,6, Iran will build a good frigate, and maybe a great frigate
It will have radar systems, communication systems, sensors, optics, naval missiles, air defense missiles, and torpedoes.

As you can see they have also separated the superstructure where the 30mm CIWS Kamand is installed.

Therefore, the superstructure that supports the 30mm CIWS will certainly contain the 30mm ammunition inside.
Now the question to ask what will be used for in the separate superstructure :
1) Will it house an optronic guidance system, as on the IRIS Alborz frigate (72)?
2) or....... VLS for short-range anti-aircraft missiles?

One month ago they said Sahand will have the Navab medium range sam system with 2x range. also it was supposed to have 8 cruise missiles.

I don’t know what kind of radar is this

There will be a new generation of corvettes or frigates, in which space will be available for these equipment, devices and systems

8 cruise missile is not a problem , in sahand the cruise missiles are in middle of the ship they means the extra weight is in center of the mass , they can put another row of missile over it without disturbing the ship balance.
another possibility is those Sayyad itself . if you recall prying mantis operation American harpoons only missed then and they only hit Iranian ships after they were crippled with Standard missile . sayyad is also based on standard missile and is actually capable of engaging very low flying target (10m or so) so maybe they meant those air-defense missiles also can be used to engage surface target if need arise .
