is it possible that it is written that the new Damavand will reuse many systems recovered from the Damavand-77 ?

and also that this new Damavand will have two separate engine room, and each engine room will house two diesel engines, for a total of 4 diesel engines (instead Damavand 77 had a single engine room with 2 diesel engines)?

yes most of equipments will be same as before.

I think its better other members translate this part :(

.
So this is already confirmed that Iran trying to rebuild it's long sunk Damavand?
I think no!
I am of the opinion that the Iranians, when the Damavand 77 sank, in the naval shipyards of Bandar and Anzali were already building blocks of the hull
AQEeozj.jpg

for a second frigate with the improvements already adopted also by the Sahand-74 frigate being completed in Bandar Abbas including the 2 engine rooms separate with 2 + 2 diesel engines.
It will be on this new frigate hull that will install all the reusable systems (electronics, radar, weapons, etc.) recovered from Damavand-77 before breaking in half and partially sinking.
Besides it has to implement the systems, probably it will also resume the name and maybe even the optical number 77, therefore in the Caspian Sea will sail in the future another frigate with the name Damavand

surely I'm wrong,
but it seems that the new Damavand frigate the 4 engines are connected each with a single gearbox to a propeller shaft, therefore 4 engines, 4 axles and 4 propellers

In Sahand, on the other hand, each pair of motors will be connected to an axis by means of a double-entry and single-output gearbox, therefore 4 engines, 2 axles and 2 propellers.

Yes you are right in Sahand case I was wrong on 2 engines its 4 engines in article .

I have no idea how it works :(

I didn't knew there was so much unused space inside Damavand.

.
apparently when Damavand was entering the dock, a technical fault (fire, flooding, etc, they didn't elaborate) leads to the failure of both engines, and in the absence of the tugboats, the sever storm knocks the ship to the the jetty with 3.5 meters water depth, and since the hull's draft in the back of the ship was 4 meters, there has been no way to recover the ship by itself. also Iran didn't have any crane barge in the Caspian sea, which forces us to transport the ship parts through the shore.

New Damavand will have the same equipments as the old one, but unlike the previous one which had a centralized engine room, this one will have a distributed engine room, 4 engines and 4 shafts while Sahand will have 4 engines and 2 shafts.

.
certainly having two engine rooms in separate watertight compartments, there is more chance of survival in case of damage to the hull.

.
It took 12 years to build Damavand but new Damavand will be rebuild sooner based on our experiences on building process of Damavand . today work on new Damavand's super structure and her body is done .

Absolutely pathetic. 12 years for a frigate? A frigate that is using 1970’s designs? A frigate which you have made copies of before?

Meanwhile, Russia is churning out warships like fast food hamburgers (China too).

No wonder the head of the navy got replaced, Iran’s incompetence in this branch of military is astonishing.

Iran’s shipbuilding yard needs to step up their game.

Imagine if Iran had to go up against Japan or Nazi Germany in WWII. For every 50 ships the adversary could churn out, Iran wouldn’t even manage 1, the war would be over before Iran finished its first ship lol.

Compared to R&D teams working on Air Force projects these guys are saints.how can we compare 1300 ton Damavand to 5 ton F-5 ?

do not overdo it !!
apart from China, which builds ships like churning bread, for the rest of the shipyards from the time of cutting the first sheet to the operational delivery, serve 5 to 6 years for ships the size of Damavand.
Indeed the first frigate project 22350 of the Russian navy was set up in the shipyard in 2006 and delivered to the fleet in this year
The corvette built in Poland class Gawron, was a variant of the MEKO A-100 project developed by the Blohm + Voss shipyard in Germany, works started in 2001 and delivered this year.
And there are many other similar situations, see also India shipyards.
Therefore for a nation like Iran with almost nulle experiences of building naval units Corvette / frigate, even less experience in the Caspian shipyard of Bandar and Anzali, 12 years to build and put in the fleet the Damavand, I consider it a fair period.
Damavand 77 i just want to remember that the biggest cause of the delay was also due to the delayed supply of the two French engines, a situation that for the following units under construction: new Damavand, Sahand and following, the Iranian engineers have redesigned the engine rooms to be able to use diesel engines of different supply, the new Iranian engines were indicated, but also others of known brand (Caterpillar), but cause embargo and sanctions probably received with triangulations with other states;

12 years of R&D and construction.

New damavand will be built in less than an year, like the rest of the world.

The one to replace Damavand maybe but I hope they don't build damavand that fast .
Damavand still need a lot of development for example one of them was the configuration in the engine room .
Its radar still can improve . its weapon system also can improve . if we want to build them that fast it means less time for development.

the blocks to build the hull of the new Damavand should already have been all made, so even the compartments for the engine room must already be ready.

Radar: an interesting radar was installed in Damavand 77,

which will be re-installed on the new Damavand.
Certainly the completed hull and the interior design including the systems, all the improvements that the Iranian industry has developed in recent years can be implemented.
It would be logical to see on this naval unit also the new CIWS to replace the Fath-40, indeed if the CIWS had a similar size to the Russian AK-630, two could be installed, so they could better defend the two sides of the ship.
as for example as the Tarantul class
