Right.. so this gun.. is supposed to work on hovering choppers then.. who are not supposed to see the IR signature of the man through their FLIR somehow and offer an aspect shot to this gun that will allow it to hit a chopper in critical spots with prevailing wing conditions.. Brilliant idea.

What about the 90% of the time when the choppers are on the move at 170 kph + ..

It would have made sense if they simply had a 20 mm Machine gun that was portable.. but a 20mm anti-helicopter sniper rifle??

Btw..the apache is about to receive newer ceramic armor.. so I think the caliber may have to go up.

Are you saying, if an apache is hovering, they will not be able to shoot it using it this?
They will aim at the rotor area.

[ I cannot post image due to post count]

Also, who said this will only be used for apache? I used Apache as an example,

however choppers can fly high, it's unlikely because of radars, air defense systems and and airplane fighters.
This is not all condition AD system,it's a very cheap solution which uses surprise factor and most effective against transport helicopters.
our military have felt such a need, demanding for such a solution. Imagine an special forces operation fail cause of one sniper shot.:sniper:

. . .
Its an anti-material rifle, and there many operational throughout the world.

They already have anti-material rifle, like this one:

This new one, is a specifically anti-helicopter.

these fancy systems on legendary Israelis tank Mercava couldn't detect missile fire spots, now you think they can detect shot location of a sniper from more than 1km? you think sniper stands right in front of chopper and shoot? and would sniper gives the pilot reaction chance?

That gives the sniper one chance with a bolt action and if he is quick a second shot, the return fire is 30 mm at a rate of 625 (±25) rounds per minute i know which end i would rather be on.
