TEHRAN (Tasnim) – New electronic devices and systems came into operation in a military exercise that Iran’s Army Ground Force is holding in the country’s southeastern coastal regions.
The Army Ground Force units on Wednesday used two advanced electronic systems for military operations for the first time in the war game underway along the Makran coasts.
During the Eqtedar-99 war game, the Ground Force units operated a mobile electro-optical monitoring system, dubbed Jalal.

The homegrown system analyzes radar and optical data and connects to command and control centers to transfer images taken with night-vision devices.
Another product utilized in the drill was a mobile GIS-based command and control system that develops geographic data and plans facilitating the control of military operations in the remote areas, battlefield or the drill zones.

Various Army units have attended the large-scale war game, including the airborne commandos, special forces and rapid reaction brigades.

Its really sad for Iran to have an army that experienced 8 years of brutal warfare and yet unable to take away just one lesson from all of that bitter experience!

is it possible to repurpose our average daily smartphones for these use cases?
I mean your galaxy s10s and such are waaay more powerful than these handhelds. so one might think, we can use them and have more possibilities...
Daily smartphones and tablets are not designed for harsh environments and they can't meet military standards

They can be ruggedized..US used many ruggedized COTS (commercial Off The Shelf) in the Iraq.
New enclosure and protective covers+ cooling/Heating add ons if operated in harsh environment so it take some work and design.

Wow! I love it when Iran reveals surprises to us. Wonderful engineering and power design work here. Iran is achieving self-sufficiency in this area. Big modernization here which should silence a lot of detractors.

Congratulations Iran

About time that some of the unveiled products are being seen more wide spread amongst the forces. Hopefully karars and future bavars, etc in future wargames...
