Canada probably has half of the world's tree population and 80% of the world's fresh water supply...yet here if you want to cut a tree on your property in small town you need to go and pay for a permit or committ to plant two trees in another location. Every well in the ground has a permitt and ID..that is how these people protect their natural resources...

In Iran you drill a hole in the ground ..buy a pump , use free gas and pump and pump and pump water day and nite from aquifer as if it is a never ending supply...what does the government do.......you guessed it...Hijab....measure hijabs and hire hijab police to beat the crap out of you if you slipped....that is mullah priority not resource protection..

not exactly by law also in Iran cutting trees or using wells need permission

to be fair, Iranians were kind of brainwashed into thinking they lived in a very resource rich country so therefore cheap gas and water etc is their birthright. and we have seen how Iranians respond when the government tries to remove some of the subsidies.

educational campaigns about need to conserve fuel/water etc would be beneficial, Iranians need mindset change before you remove subsidies and cause riots

In Türkiye, Iranian watermelons are sold for cheaper than Turkish watermelons produced within the country. I've never understood Iranian agricultural policies. How is that even possible?

You basically exported your water resources for the sake of few lousy Dollars even though it is your most important and scarce commodity.

However, Türkiye has also a lot of issues regarding water scarcity. The Van Lake is also shrinking.

In the past 50 years Iran's underground Water reserves has been diminished by 50%...at the current rate of misuse we will go dry in 25 years..most agriculture will die..Iranian plateau will drop and become uninhabitable...

Our Mullahs are playing "world domination" games while Iran is dying.

Urmia lake officially pronounced "dead and dry" in 2023..All her water sources diverted to inefficient agricultural products at "ZERO" cost to producers.

Iran is the only country in the world that her population centers are not by a major river or the sea but in a dry plateau made possible by our genius ancestors that made "Qanats" twice the length of earth to moon to make sustainable agriculture possible for that population....IR destroyed that balance in mere 43 years..

Mind you "Iran is drying out" is also a repeated enemy propaganda. If there is environmental problems, it's at least on regional/continental level..

Why Iranian lakes go dry but Turkish lakes few hundred kilometers away remain healthy...

Mullah government afraid of her own population---> keep population quiet by giving them free fuel, free gas ,free electricity free water------> false economy is created-----> makes production of agriculture supper cheap export them-----> everything free so no conservation just runaway consumption------> depletes all free resources water, gas, fuel----->makes Iran a dry land ,importing fuel !! and with a population expecting everything for free , selling crude oil at 40% discount just to keep up.

This is called mullah economics 101..

Ps: this economics is so good that they import 5 million Afghans also to share the wealth and keep mullahs safe from their own population!!!!

No doubt current subsidy program is a disaster for Iranian economy.

Try to remove fuel subsidies in Iran (literally cheapest gas and fuel prices in the world), and you have atleast 500+ dead minimum

Main problem is not export but heavy consumption of water for agriculture without the use of modern and efficient methods or the latest gen equipment. Farmers are also greedy and done some illegal practices like illegal digging to use the aquifers under Lake Urumia which badly effected the lake.

Can anybody tell what's happened to the Iran Defence Forum that was here in the Pakinstan Defence Forum. I looked at it most days for the past couple of years, but it seems to have completely disappeared. I can find posts from 2023, but nothing more recent.
Have the powers that be closed it down ?
