A Little Background on Who Iranian Azaris Are
Please Note: We are Iranians & People from Turkey are NOT Our Spokespeople. ​

You will see in Tabriz we celebrate all of the Iranian cultural icons from several thousands years ago.

Russia took part of Iran's Northern Province and engaged in a policy of cultural brainwashing and communism: As a result many generations of Azaris North of Iran, were forced to disassociate from Iran and many were raised not knowing their roots.

Before they forced a change in the alphabet in Soviet-occupied Azerbaijan, they wrote in Persian script and Old Azeri. In this example, it is a news paper from Republic of Azerbaijan-SSR and they write: "Azaris are Iranians; Iran is our life and our blood; Iran is our motherland." The USSR killed the publishers and the people were forced to adopt a script closer to Russian.

We are Iranians and have fought for Iran since ancient times:

This is in the Republic of Azerbaijan, it is OLD-Azari and it is a type of Persian known as Pahlavil.
This is what we spoke for thousands of years.

Even the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan was forced to admit the ancient Iranian roots of Azaris -- before they tried to deny it, especially during communist times.

Ths is a stamp from Republic of Azerbaijan in Persian script before they forced them to change it. In the picture is a Persian-Zoroastrian Fire Temple.

Pre-Islam our religion was Persian-Zorastrianism just like the the rest of Iran. This is where the holiday of Norouz comes from.

This is is the Old-Azari (Persian) inscription on the ancient fire temple in the Republic of Azerbaijan, though most of the people there cannot read this anymore, and do not even understand the alphabet.

We hate Ilham Aliyev (President of the Republic of Azerbaijan) because he is a Zionist puppet.

To PakPower: Iran lost a war to the Russians and that is why we lost many lands to them as well. Part of the land we lost was the modern state known as Azerbaijan Republic.

"Old Azeri Turkish"?! There's no such language or script. He was talking about Old Azeri language which is a branch of Iranian language family and was the ancient language of people of Azerbaijan.

Caspian Sea = oil and gas. That's the reason people play games with our ethnicity. If they continue to drive a wedge between Iran and the province that was stolen (now called the Republic of Azerbaijan); they can continue to put billions in the oil dollars in the pockets of the elite.

One of the basic principles of international law is that military action that leads to acquisition of territory or gaining of sovereignty is illegal.

If they disagree with this principle, the land can then be taken back by force.

Either way, it's Iranian land.

Tabriz, can you post a map of Iran, Turkey, and Azerbaijan and show us the demographic situation as well as where exactly Tabriz is?

As far as the Zoroastrian community is concerned, we don't differentiate between Iran and Azerbaijan. They are the same for us.

If anything, the birth of the faith was more towards what is today Azerbaijan, though one cannot obviously pin point the coordinates.

Most Azeris live nowadays in western cities. But their orijinal places are Kars and İğdır. They are still majority there. Map Shows those cities Kurdish territory. Comedy.

See the text below that "looks like Arabic"? It is an Iranian alphabet and script that predates Arabic. More people need to study the origin of languages and alphabets. Iran has 7,000 plus years of history: It has been through several alphabets.
