Iran working on supercomputer- in top 500

right now no publicly available active distro are produced in Iran and you may not believe but last time they used windows XP in our ships

The reason for that mainly is because there is really no need for a public Persian distro or a modified version of Windows anymore. Although, the Sharif distro of Linux is still installed on a few computers at Sharif University.

Windows XP was a turning point for us in Iran and the Middle East. Microsoft finally started to officially support RTL languages without the known issues in previous versions of Windows. The UTF-8 support had become widespread and Microsoft had finally adapted the Iran Unicode System to support Persian characters. After then, it didn't make much sense for people to release their own distros or modified versions of Windows anymore. Right now, Windows 10 not only supports the Persian language perfectly, but it also supports the Iranian calendar and can switch to a full Persian display without any trouble.

As for our ships, they are probably using a modified version of Windows that is more secure than a standard public version of Windows. Using old systems is still a thing around the world because it takes time to modify and customize them. Boeing 747 is still receiving updates via floppy disks, for example.

I do not know if they do and in what systems (military, civilian!) but If they do I am sure they must have taken that possibility in their calculation....It is the same concept as the "kill switch" when you buy any large system from a foreign supplier... think about Saudi F-15s dropping out of the sky if they decide to make a run to bomb Israel!!...

Ah, i see. You think Risc-V is produced by a company like Intel or AMD and so you think they put some backdoors in it. But this is not the case. Risc-V is only the design. One have to produce the processor self. As you can see in my link in the post before, Alibaba used this design, did some addons to it and came out with a supercomputer for their business.

RISC-V is open source, if the Chinese trust it than it's very likely safe. RISC foundation even relocated to Switzerland to avoid US trade regulations.

Azari Jahromi had announced in June that the number of the country's manufactured satellites will increase to 18 by the end of the current Iranian year.

"Iran had made 3 satellites by the year 2013, it increased to 7 in 2017, 15 in 2020 and God willing, we will have 18 home-made satellites by the end of this year," Azari Jahromi said, addressing the parliamentarians in Tehran.

15 satellites!!,I honestly dont know whether to laugh or to cry reading this....
What in the fvck is the point in even building them if no effort is going to be made to launch them,or in the case of the civilian space program just to try and perfect the existing launch systems so you can have a shot at launching them successfully.

Most of the satellites are built by universities and their research programs. So it helps them gain experience.

The satellites will eventually be launched once Iran has a reliable SLV.

Later, IBM made a counter-argument, claiming that the task would only take 2.5 days on a classical system like Summit.

A Chinese physicist claimed to have built a quantum computer that would leave Western competitors in the dust, but he and his team said they needed to “further verify” the claim.
Pan Jianwei, a physicist from the University of Science and Technology of China, announced at a lecture at Westlake University, Hangzhou, on September 5 that a new machine had recently achieved “quantum supremacy” one million times greater than the record currently held by Sycamore, a quantum computer built by Google.

This means that China has shattered the core of the U.S. Empire, that is its technological supremacy, and is preparing to storm what remains of the U.S. hegemonic world order!
