Iran Wanted the Soviet MiG-29 Fighter Jet as its Next Primary Fighter

If Iran is capable, they would have replicate a F-4 rather than F-5EII. The J79 turbojet has decent thrust to weight ratio and bigger F-4 phantom meaning more room for upgrade and the plane has more range due to more fuel carry. But I guess, F-4 proves more difficult to made domestic compare to F-5EII.
Stating obvious, without , mastering j-85 its useless trying to tinker with j-79. and after learning j-85 , well we decided its better to invest in turbofan rather than turbo jet , that's when Jahesh-700 show itself and talk about 50-60 kn turbo fan engine .

by the way we produce every single part of j-79 to maintain our f-4 fleet

it is parked in the vicenity of TF-x
He can't see it, it's a stealth fighter 🙈

Funny presentation of TF-x in Wikipedia :

The TAI TF-X is a fifth-generation stealth twin-engine all-weather air superiority fighter in development by Turkish Aerospace Industries and BAE Systems as its sub-contractor. The aircraft is planned to replace F-16 Fighting Falcons of the Turkish Air Force and to be exported to foreign nations

I'm a noob in this area, never heard of any A.W.A.S fighter ....

I seriously doubt so. Iran just managed to obtain spare parts from many decommissioned F-4 around the world. If Iran really can produced J79, they would have make a F-4 rather than the koswar fighter.

Iran is strong because it has proxies and missiles. Irans biggest enemies are in Middle East. Us bases are in Middle East. Iran has enough proxy power and missiles to seriously harm us regional bases or any middle eastern country. Iran if invaded will not survive but it won’t be easy for the invading army either. It’ll end up too costly for invaders to continue and be another Vietnam. Irans strategy is to make any possible invasion or attack too costly to ever take place. If Israel attacks them Iranian proxies in Lebanon, Syriaand gaza will attack Israel and unleash thousands of rockets and missiles. This will be too costly for Israel and Israel would be damaged more then the damage they caused Iranians. Irans geography protects it from being invaded by land from any army coming from the west. Only way to invade Iran is from the southeast. Only country which can provide land suitable for a invasion of Iran is Pakistan and Pakistan won’t drag it self into someone else’s war. Everywhere else Iranian mountains offer it protection. Iran doesn’t need a strong airforce they can respond with missiles and proxies.

What happenend to 5th generation Qaher-313 it's supposed to be on par with F-35 according to iran fanboys.
You should not inform yourself from some funboys, instead you should look for official information about some weapons or whatever... Talking some dumb information released by funboys as facts... Makes you no better than those funboys... Official information about Qaher clearly state it is SUBSONIC, without radar... So only idiot Who knows nothing about This topic can say it is 5th generation... Main features of 5th gen aircraft are supercrusing(super Sonic flight without forsage), AESA radar...etc...When official INFO about Qaher say it is SUBSONIC, without radar.. Etc... Than anyone Who knows anything about fighterjets Know it is Attack aircraft, Like SU25 or A10... those are also SUBSONIC and have no radar.. Qaher is clearly, IF it is ever built in This configuration, ment to be low attlitude Attack Jet ideal for antiship missions or to penetrate in to Enemy airspace, drop some precision bombs and run... But most likely it will never be produced in current configuration...

MIG-29? Should it be MiG-35?
It cannot change the fact, Mig-35 is still outdated, the twin high maintenance problem still plague. RMAF quickly retired their new Mig-29 fleet as spares are hard to come by. High operation cost while little operation time.

Iran AF are not stupid to step into the endless pit.

well if you doubt then what about TF30-P-414A and TF30-P-412A that was used in our F-14s . that's even a lot harder to maintain

MIG-29? Should it be MiG-35?

It's nonsensical altogether. Out of every aerospace related subject of the past twenty years, speculation over Iranian fighter jet acquisitions from foreign suppliers has to rank among the topics which generated the largest amount of utterly baseless fake news, with those publishing such reports motivated by God knows what (in fact I can think of some explanations, from being fooled by and rehashing a bogus story carried by another source to mere sensationalist attention seeking to certain political or propagandistic aims, but at the end of the day it remains misinformation).

Ideally, threads such as these wouldn't deserve to be entertained.

Main limitation of Qaher-313 is Iranian capability in jet engine technology and when Qaher-313 was shown it was before breakthrough such as successful reverse engineering and domestic production of J85-GE-21 that is most advanced variant of J85 series as it was redesigned and is closer technologically to J79 jet engine than original J85 series.

After that came reverse engineering and production of FJ33 medium to high bypass turbofan jet engine that consumes 1/3rd of kg of jet fuel per kgf generated than J85-GE-21.

Jahesh-700 derived from FJ33 should be upscaled to match FJ44-4A thus range of Qaher would be three times greater than with J85-GE-21 turbojet engines and thus fuel capacity could be reduced to allow larger internal weapons bay while Iranian radar technology has advanced that Qaher-313 could have competent radar yet then there is another limitation of limited capability that Iran has with air to air missiles as its either small heat seekers or huge active radar homing thus Iran is lacking in compact ARH AAM.

With reverse engineering and successful reproduction of J85-GE-21 and FJ33 by Iran, it demonstrates gained knowledge and experience in jet engine technology that at very least should allow to design and produce a small bypass turbofan engine equivalent to F125 as used on F-CK-1(basically F-16 equivalent made by Taiwan).

China has fighters /.lots of other military products it now produces

So why do Middle Easterners always run to Russia for
Because up until fairly recently the quality and capabilities of the chinese gear just wasnt quite up to par with either its russian or western equivalents.
For instance its only very recently that the j-10c was finally in production with an indigenous w-10 engine, before that it was using the russian AL-31,which obviously limits ones export potential.
However to be fair, the chinese have made enormous leaps in technology and capability over the last 30 years, and the quality of their weapons has improved a lot over the last decade and its far closer now to its russian and western counterparts.
Also, lets not forget that many,if indeed not most of the "middle easterners" ie the arab regimes, are thoroughly vassalized and have been western vassals,in some cases, since even well before the beginning of the cold war.

MIG-29? Should it be MiG-35?
Indeed, and in fact that rather glaring oversight pretty much says everything about the quality,or lack thereof,of the 💩op💩.

Who in their right mind would make an F-4 in 2022?

F-5 can serve as an advanced trainer and CAS light fighter.

F-4 is an antiquated bomb truck plane that lights up like a Christmas tree on radars with an engine that leaves such a thermal trail that any EO/IO system could pick it up passively.

Would be a terrible waste of resources to reverse engineer an F-4 for a country like Iran.

Iran needs an interceptor/air superiority fighter not a bomber.

Iran should pursue development of indigenous low bypass turbofan engine with thrust to match two J85-GE-21 with single turbofan. If Iran can maintain J79 or even possibly produce entire J79 turbojet engine by itself, it would make more sense to retire F4 and design a single engine fighter jet in order to have twice the jets.

Iran needs interceptors/air superiority fighter to protect air defenses from over saturation attacks from fighter jets and defend key areas.

Iran’s F-14’s single handly protected Iran during the Imposed War.

Thus you need something in AL-21/31 class ideally. A fast and powerful engine to allow interceptor to reach any point inside Iran quickly with a 300KM+ radar and 100-200KM air to air missile to keep enemies on their toes. A heavy fighter that can stay in the air a good amount with a large combat radius.

J-85 is worthless for anything outside of light fighter class. j-79 is not ideal for future iterations.

If Iran is going to build its own fighter jet it makes sense to plug in the most pressing need, which is an replacement for F-14. Iran has about 15 years to do that domestically before F-14’s will likely have to be mothballed or retired completely. After that, the skies of Iran will be pretty defenseless outside of a some aging MIGs
