No offence but i think it,s time to add some modern system not just welding same old system again and again.........:(
just look at the israeli system.................:coffee:

yeah, because all the fancy stuff worked so well against Hezbollah in 2006, right?
such systems must have a combination of price and effectivity to deploy them in hundreds or thousands if needed -> asymetrical warfare
I guess I can get 5 of this Iranian systems for each israeli one.
Read about the german Tiger tank vs the soviet T-34
Tiger was top notch quality, but the t34 was fater, better agility and was massproduced in thousands.
It was cheap, easy to maintain and effective!
In the end Tiger had no chance.

1) you are talking about quantity over quality tactics. (It,s not 1942 now it,s 2017)
2) this iranian sph video upload in you tube March 7, 2011 so it, alrady six years old hare is nothing new in this GC-45 compare to HM-41.
3) IRAN supplying them to hezbollah, sudan.
this is a good system but iran has the capability to develop more modern system and it,s my point.

Ashura, the name of that famous day. It is funny how Persians cry in that day so much for not achieving the blessing of being ruled by a great Arab man like Al Imam Al Hussain. Yet, the same people cry over the awful Islamic conquest in which Al Hussain and his dad had witnessed, sanctioned, and participated in.

That's the Persian mind for you.

Bad analogy my friend.

The T-34 was just a great tank, because it was "good enough". It had enough firepower to defeat even heavy German armour like the Tiger, but ingenious design like the heavy use of angled armour (allowing it to have decent protection while using less resources) coupled with other factors like it being basically the only armoured vehicle on the production lines in serious numbers meant the Russians could make tons of it.

The vast majority of Iran's artillery is old, much of it even WW2 era. They are not "good enough". They are heavy, inaccurate, and have a short range compared to that of our rivals. Ballistic computers should be the standard in a modern army... not the exception.

Frankly, I don't know why the Artesh wastes its already small budget upgrading these things.

If we already have HM-41 they what the heck is Ashura for? Is thier corruption going on here? What about basir?

Tiger was a much better tank.

The germans couldnt field more tanks than allies... so they built a far more advanced tank ..

T-34 was cheap, mass produced, had lower range... etc.

Overall it was quantity than won Kursk not quality...

HM-41 is the towed version. This one here is a self propelled one. Basir can be used on any 155mm artillery piece we have, including this, M109, Raad-2, GC-45, etc.
The problem here is that this thing is a very crude 6 year old project and it sticks out when they already have shown that highly automated self propelled D-30.

So the self propelled hm41 they showed 6 years ago is the same as ashura? Same product?

Are you speaking of heidar41 that was shown recently? Because yes, I don't understand what ashura is for, total waste or theft

Near enough. This one looks as if more effort is put into it, but it isn't enough. They have shown that they can automatize their artillery pieces and so have not excuse for unveiling this. If this is just a step before automation, then they shouldn't have unveiled it at all.
