What's new

Iran successfully produces a new generation of the Tomcat F-14

Mobiles arent. Stationary SAMs with silos are definitely not cheap, but still vastly cheaper than making new gen of fighters. Like F-35 program already is over 500 billion and will cost over a trillion in its lifetime, and these fighters arent even that good.

Mobile SAMs are pretty cheap, plus much harder to hunt down and kill. Thats why Iranians new advanced B-373 will be mobile as well.
You are not in the position to comment on how goot F-35 is. The pilots who have flown these Jets, do praise it a lot.

SAM systems will be ineffective, if radar systems are jammed; which will be done by US.

Your beliefs do not translate in to invincibility of Iran in reality.

Iraqi army didn't even fight U.S in 2003,and with all these,U.S suffered 5000 casualties from militants and also trillions of dollars.
This is really not a joke.
Iraqi army did fight US in 2003. Don't lie.

US suffered 5000 casualties during a whole 10 year occupation period, which is peanuts in the grand picture of warfare. Most of these causalties were due to the result of very strong insurgency which was also suppressed eventually.

Also, long term occupations in modern times are very costly for any nation - specially with equipment like that of US and objectives like rebuilding the occupied nation and implementing democracy.

And do ponder over 1991 Persian Gulf War as well.

Latest Russian and EU fighters were killing F22 and F35 in dog fights, latest US fighters are good primarily for LONG range warfare. Nonetheless, many countries are canceling F35 orders or significantly cutting them back.

How do you know they will be ineffective? Santa Claus told you? :azn: Latest S400 is expected to be effective, B-373 - lets live and see. For every weapon counter-measure is developed, like for jamming (radars, missiles, etc), anti-jamming equipment is made. Surprised? Cat and mouse game never ends.

Where did I showed beliefs about Iran's invincibility? Advice to you - dont put your words/ideas in others mouths, because I dont even have to defend something I never said :)

.
why you posting news from 2010? wtf...
Iran upgraded the radar on f-14 and it's electronic long time ago, but so what? we still need new fighter jets.

soon we will make our own jet engine, and soon after we will see our fighter jet.
we already have a design for that one engine fighter.

Where did you hear that news? That part the f-22 and f-35 is downed by enemy fighters. Except in Red Flag the f-22 was downed.

Are you really posting some anonymous guy objection, who quotes PR spin? :)

Read the link I gave above, read Coffin Corners for the Joint Strike Fighter
Air Combat: Russia?s PAK-FA versus the F-22 and F-35

and so on, these are actually written by the military people, who have more understanding about the subject than random internet guys, quoting PR.

Few quotes for you:

MajGen Richard Koch, chief of USAF Air Combat Command’s advanced air dominance branch, stated last week: “I wake up in a cold sweat at the thought of the F-35 going in with only two air-dominance weapons.”

"The F-35 has already been neutralised and negated by the Su-35-1/35BM and will be substantively overmatched by the PAK-FA. The West needs to think long, hard and fast about the PAK-FA, as the current and retrograde “F-35 centric” future fighter fleet model guarantees certain defeat in future combat." WGCDR Chris Mills, AM, BSc, MSc(AFIT), RAAF (Retd)

Facts on paper doesnt look good for F35, but of course we can always assume it will be completely different (or not) in the actual war. Still, Sukhoys have better and longer range radars, twice as many missiles on board, almost twice the flying distance, much greater speed and maneuverability. No wonder tests so far mentioned "clubbing the baby seals."

Wow you have gotten your source from Airpower Austrailia yeah that site is biased if you ask me, any proof of the better and longer ranged radars, wouldn't the f-35 find it first in a dogfight maneuverability kind of (I am not saying it dosen't count) matter. If they know about the classified information about the f-35 I would listen. They are only bashing the f-35 because they got rejected by the US for the f-22. I go on f-16.net to get the correct technicals on the f-35. Even the defense minister said the simulation were inaccurate.

This is really not a joke.

5000 officially from US sources, but more than 50 000 from Iraqi count of US casualties, a realistic number if one is to believe that 1000 000 Iraqis lost their lives in the conflict, that was easy in Iraq though, since it is all flat terrain and Americans went on a hunting party...
Iran is too mountainous for a land invasion and too fierce in a fight, Hezbollah war in Lebanon of 2006 is but a tiny sample of what awaits America and Israel in particular and the whole region in general (relatively speaking, since it might spread very quickly to a WW3 scenario if China - which never jokes in these matters- enters the war overtly to protect Iran and itself eventually).
The USsrael never dared to speak about invading Iran (just an air campaign to destroy the Iranian nuclear installations, but the latest remarks from the highest military officials of the US are telling Israel to keep its sickness to itself and to be realistic. Iran is extremely powerful militarily speaking.)

@ LeGenD

Here is a sample of what was happening in Iraq day in day out when the Iraqis decided to fight the Americans, at the rate you will see in the following video, 5000 US casualties can happen in few months, imagine 8 to 9 years... that is why the US leaved Iraq... in panic mode.
This is ONE sniper who made something like 1000 American casualties in one year in Baghdad, the same thing was going on in every Iraqi city with thousands of snipers all over Iraq.
The US could lose all its soldiers in Iraq very quickly if it didn't hide them in their barracks and had no other choice but to leave this Muslim Arab place called IRAQ.

If Aussies are biased, its anti-Russian and pro-US. They are buyers of US fighters, including F-35. Also as buyers and alies of US, they not only have the classified information about F-35, they also have seen them in action.

Despite all of that, Aussies military are saying Sukhoys are better, and F-35 wont be a match for PAK-FA. What "defense minister" or any other politician says, is about PR and politics. US ally jumping from US military ship and joining Russia on fighters is NOT going to happen, regardless if Sukhoys are superior or not.

Havent seen that yet, thanks. Its a fact US wont be able to keep Iran occupied this time, asymmetric warfare would wear down aggressor in all areas - economic, manpower, equipment, etc.

What I'm more afraid of, is West/Arabs may choose to flood Iran with terrorists, like they did with Libya, Syria, etc. Difficulty to fight guerrilla warfare works both ways.

.
well m F-14 is still a good fighters , but we should try to make new fighters ... at least a light fighter ....

we need make light , fast and cheap fighter .... we need at least 200-250 fighter for 10-15 years ahead ...

F-14 is good , but it can't hold much ground against it's creator ... especially when USA hase more fighters than us as well !!!

even if F-14 could stand against F-18 E/F and F-16 in quality terms , it would get outnumber very soon ...

It is not the military saying that it is a bunch of rejects like Carl Kopp.

This possibility is very unlikely, due to many facts, one of them is geographic, others are that Arabs today are not willing to help the US(Israel) wage another war in the Area, since they are the main concerned nations and will suffer all the repercussions of such a war, last but not the least, Iran has the Basij Force of 11 000 000 (read it again that is eleven million asymmetric warfare combatants armed and ready 24 hours a day.), not counting the Mighty armed forces and the extraordinary IRGC, this makes Iran immune to such speculations. It is a regional super power in every sense of the word, The NAM summit and the confirmed presence (despite the sanctions) of more than 100 international countries proves it.

Only a crazy or insane entity (that wishes ill for the ME and the world) will provoke Iran beyond words and into a physical fight.

Please notice that my analysis is based on a synthesis of recent Iranian, as well as American and western military authorities statements.
