Do you even know what you are talking about?.

There is a reason for Iranians to do the photoshop (where they did a bad job), that is, to show false Bravado to the world. In the same vein, people think that Sejil missile is not new, but an old missile with new dress. Again, the reason for doing this is to show false bravado, thinking that no body will attack them.

In irans history they have never been the agresor and have never attacked any nation on this planet.iran iraq war iranians were attacked and they defended them self.as far as bombing them no one here in there right mind would doubt that americans have the power to do so.

I am only saying what will happen if Iran attacks us, not saying they will but if they did.

The history is not important, or whether Iran is a saint. We work with the current situation. The current situation is the West accuses Iran of getting the bomb and demands them to stop enrichment. The Iranians are saying "No way". So we are at this deadlock. When both sides takes a strong stance and neither will back down, eventually one side would have to call the others bluff.

I say again, I don't advocate an attack on Iran, but the situation might possibly lead to one.

you cant compare iraq to iran in any possible way saddam was a dictator and was installed on iraqies he never ever trusted his army other then the few closed family members so they were never properly armed to fight.guns were issued to the army but never given the bullets as he was affaraid they could be used against him.iran on the other hand is not the same government is elected by the people army is trained and armed with what ever they have the resources to do so.usa didnt attack iraq by her self alone half the world was involved in the attack iraqi unarmed army quit before the fight started.plus divided population didnt help saddam iran again diffrent ball game population +the armed forces will fight.
as far as gurilla war fare is concerned its easy to get in to any country for super power its not as easy to finish the job.again only people putting up ressistance are saddmas few loyals who stand to and have lost it all not the whole population.

My post was not focusing on the leadership of the nations, I was more implying that when the US gets down to it (war with Iran) we will make sure that we will do the job, be it military overstretched, financial restraints or whatever.

About the part getting into the country is easy and getting out is difficult depends what the US strategy and goal is at the time. If it is just bombing, then there is no need to get out.

Bombing some one from air cause the country is defence less isnt that the same has road side bombing you telling me those air attacks dont kill civilians.they have to fight with what ever is at there disposal.now imagine this if the russians have supplied the taliban ground to air missiles like the americans did can u tell me what would be the out come then its easy to judge but the history have shown how a mighty russian army couldnt stand it when other party had some thing to fight back with.

In warfare, civilians casualties are inevitable, but the difference is we do not hide behind civilians or use them as shields. The Taliban can fight us without using civilians, yet they don't. This shows the value of civilians in their minds.

In regards to bombing are you talking about Iran or Taliban?.

depends if they have the same fire power or not other wise yes you are right they will be dead before they say ahhhh.

Clearly, the Iranians doesn't have the capability.

Average american was ignorent as long as it didnt cost them any thing but thats not the case any more these wars have cost them dearly and it showed at the election when a Black man was picked to be the next president of usa.and from some states where blacks werent even allowed to use the same washroom as whites so to answer your question yes American people have spoken loud and clear.unfortunatly they spoke little to late now that they are in triliions of dollars in debt and economy tanking but but late then never.

My post is all based on an Iranian attack on our ships, so do you think when that happens, the American public will say..."let's not retaliate because we are overstretched and in a financial crisis"?...I don't think so.

well if u look at the american economy these bombings have braught them to thrid world status and tanking.once a great nation stands to go bankrupt if the continue on this path.so u see bombing some one isnt that easy unless u have the money to make those bombs.

Is this the first time we have an economic problem? No, despite all this, our military budget still engulfs the world combined. These things will not stop America from retaliation.

After the election there were celebration all over the world i guess whole world have there hopes set on obama including me.

It is a change from the Bush policy, so no matter what he does, it would be better than Bush's approach.

you see if the americans want the iranians to give up there nukes they can start by setting up the example change your foreging policy one sided approch isnt the answer.iran is a signatory of NPT and is allowed to develope nuclear power but Americans dont like that well india isnt a signatory of NPT and is being allowed civilian nuclear tech what do u think others dont see this double standerd and u think they dont have the right to self defence when americans supply every thing to isreal on one hand and tell the others no no you cant have it.i doubt they will listen and back off they be stupid to do so.

Iran is a signatory, but they are not completely open with the nuclear program. The IAEA has already said that there are many questions Iran failed to answer. We must treat the issue separately inregards to US-Indo deal. In this world there are lots of things that are not fair or not to your liking. But instead of crying about it, it is best to live with it.

Israel is our ally, so we will support them and supply them with arms. Besides, we are talking about Iran's getting the bomb, no nation in this world would allow that to happen, not even Pakistan.
.

They way usa government is barrowing to continue on this path its going to be you and your grand kids and there kids that will be paying this off for a very very long time to come so can you afford to sit and wait.

I am myself and I am not the President, I have already said that I am not advocating a Iranian war, I am just working with the current situation and give my views.

The current situation is that a conflict might happen because of the reasons I have mentioned above.

Another Look at the Sejil Launch (video)

The Sejil could be a development of the Ashoura. (Perhaps the Iranians are naming each developmental increment by a new name?) Photos and video of the Ashoura were not included for its launch on November 2007. Jeffrey Lewis at Arms Control Wonk cites sketches of the Ashoura available at MDA that appear roughly similar to the Sejil. Comparisons are also being made to the Pakistani Shaheen II missile.

According to Paul in the comments section at ACW: This missile is completely different from the Shahab variety and represents a significant advance on the part of Iran. A two stage solid fuel missile; distinctly different long and white smoke trail; much faster initial acceleration than Shahab-3; and what appears to be a gimbaled vernier engine for the second stage (same basic design for the Safir satellite launch vehicle). Range is probably more than 2,000 km, or perhaps the warhead weight is heavier than Shahab-3, bringing the range down to “only” 2,000 km.

New missile marks 'significant leap' for Iran capabilities - Jane's Defence Systems News
Iran announced on 12 November that it had test-fired a new medium-range ballistic missile (MRBM) with a stated range of 2,000 km.

The missile, a two-stage solid-fuel system known as Sajil, was launched from a site in western Iran near the Iraq border towards a target 800 km away, according to Western intelligence sources. As Jane's went to press it was still unknown whether the launch was completely successful, although it appeared that the separation marking the two stages did occur.

"This is a whole new missile," Uzi Rubin, former director of Israel's Ballistic Missile Defence Organisation, told Jane's . "Unlike other Iranian missiles, the Sajil bears no resemblance to any North Korean, Russian, Chinese or Pakistani [missile technology]. It demonstrates a significant leap in Iran's missile capabilities.

"Regardless of the success of the test, this missile places Iran in the realm of multiple-stage missiles, which means that they are on the way to having intercontinental ballistic missile capabilities," he added.

(i guess israelies didnt read your post other wise they would no its a photo shop rofl:)

In statements released by state media, Iranian Defence Minister Brigadier General Mustafa Mohammad Najjar hailed the launch of the Sajil missile as "very fast", adding that it would be easy to produce. Tehran's Al-Alam television reported that the new missile utilises "composite solid-propellant fuel" and that unlike the Shahab-3 MRBM, which is launched only vertically, the Sajil could be launched "at a variable angle".

Video released by Iranian state media clearly shows a two-stage missile with a guidance system on the second stage and a triconic re-entry vehicle identical to that of the Shahab-3. However, the Sajil's diameter appears greater than the 1.25 m of the Shahab. Intelligence sources consider the Sajil to be a new name for Iran's Ashura MRBM, which failed to deploy its second stage in an unsuccessful launch in November 2007.

With a purported range of 2,000 km, the Sajil brings Moscow, Athens and southern Italy within striking distance from Iran. It is this kind of threat that has spurred the US development of a missile defence shield in Europe - most recently seen with the planned placement of interceptors in Poland - despite objections from Russia.

"This is a growing threat and we need to be able to deal with future missile attacks from Iran," said US State Department spokesperson Robert Wood. "This is something of concern to the international community, and I'm including Russia in the international community here. And so we think missile defence is in the interests of not only the United States and its European allies, but also Russia."

Dude, please read post no.4 on this same thread. Here is the link

The israeli's are hardly going to tell everyone how crap the Iranian missiles are. If they did then the US might cut funding......Anyone remember how they claimed the Iranians were going to buy several hundred Russian aircraft and 20 tankers?
