Iran seizes oil tanker in Gulf

yesterday i followed the take over of the ship Mesdar as it was happening on the marine traffic site.

It is a site that let you check on every ship , its timeline whereabouts . current speed etc. What is more interesting that on the page on the left down side , there is a map that show you the exact location of the ship and her heading.

Yesterday for example , it showed clearly how the ship change course towards Iran.

With all that is happening maybe it is a tool that members here would like to look at and check the news reports for themselves.

Here for example is the report on the vessel " Mesdar " :

Just for general impression here is the map showing traffic in the Hormuz straits , seems like a highway :

and here is one showing the hot spots of traffic and routes , you can see the Ports in UAE Dubai and Abu dhabi attract the most traffic

Not surprising if you consider that Jebel Ali, port in Dubai, is the ninth largest port in the world :

this is what happens when a relatively small country like Britain spends most of its money on aquiring less than a dozen capital ships, you end up with a small number of ships that is not enough for escort missions, the only two countries that can afford to have a sufficient number of capital ships for escort are the US & China, all other countries should make do with 3k-5k ton ships like the Chinese type 054A or the Russian Gorshkov.

what happened with the British tanker is an excellent example to demonstrate why the number of ships availabe is important.

I don't know man. It's fair play given whats going on but this might be the red line.

I don't know why they don't contact Sweden, Algeria, Japan or any country other then UK. UK is also holding an emergency meeting over this. To me, it looks like the main country involved in this incident shall be UK...but hey, I don't expect much from someone who calls IRGC pirates.
Stena Imperio is operated by UK located Northern Marine Group. But ship is owned by Swedish company. The ship operator is also owned by same Swedish company. There is nothing British about this ship.

Aoa

The Americans told Canadians to hold that Chinese lady. Then left them to fend for themselves against China.

Now same with the British and the Iranians.

Americans are going to start losing credibility fast with their allies.
