Iran reveals capture of 2 more US drones in past

An Iranian navy commander claims the country’s security forces had captured two small US drones in past missions in addition to at least four others reported earlier.

Admiral Amir Rastgari says the two drones were of the small, low-altitude RQ-11 type, according to the semi-official Fars news agency. He said one was captured in the summer of 2011 and the other in November 2012.

Rastgari claimed that most of the data from the unmanned aircraft was recovered.

Iran’s powerful Revolutionary Guard said last month that it had captured a ScanEagle American drone after it entered into Iranian airspace over the Persian Gulf.

At the same time, Iran claimed it had taken possession of two other simple, small ScanEagles.

In 2011, Iran claimed it brought down a more sophisticated CIA spy drone after it entered Iranian airspace from Afghanistan.

I doubt USA send this one into Iran any time soon , this UAV is just not a spy Drone it's a true hunter-killer

I think RQ-170 and Eagle-Scan were enough for you to believe this one too. RQ-11 is the cheapest U.S drone, there is no need for Iran to lie about it, and showing pictures are not necessary for everything either.

I think RQ-170 and Eagle-Scan were enough for you to believe this one too. RQ-11 is the cheapest U.S drone, there is no need for Iran to lie about it, and showing pictures are not necessary for everything either.

These are hardly 'most sophisticated' UAVs. If anything, the 'most sophisticated' ones Iran cannot detect them -- came and gone.

We have plenty of experience in this from the Cold War: The probing of adversary air defenses via visible and not-so-visible methods. Iran is not Yemen, Somalia, Afghanistan or Pakistan, but then Iran is not the Soviet Union, China or Eastern Europe either. And we probed them plenty. If we resurrect the SR-71, it will not belong before Iran claim it shot down one or two.
