What you say is nice but I'm assuming that there is quite a bit of logistics involved in this as well. Materials and man power come into mind if one really wants to produce 1000's of cruise missiles and ballistic missiles a year (I do agree that this is the path Iran must take since the Russians won't sell Iran the jets).

In terms of materials over 99% of them can be found in abundance in Iran & clearly the 1st year or 2 will be spent on building the infrastructure, building the tools required in mass production, training personal,... At the end of the day it's a matter of Wanting it & Funding it! And I'm not talking about Missiles Iran doesn't yet know how to produce! You've produced it, you know what you need & so you can increase production 10 fold if you choose. Easily in less than 2 years Iran can reach those numbers!
Fatteh-110 has been mass produced in Iran for well over a decade & producing the fuel for it is no harder than producing Rubber & Tiers!
What's important is your production capacity reaches 1000 per year & as long as the facilities are in good hidden fortified facilities after 2-3 years you don't really need to keep on producing that much!!!

Well that's a choice China is going to have to make! You either choose to have a strategic military alliance with an Energy Rich power of the Middle East or you don't & you allow the U.S. to have a choke hold over your energy!

They are not there because they fear Iran nor are they there because of dependence on Middle East Oil! They have all the Oil they need in their own continent!

In a war against China the American's aren't going to come and fight a Billion Chinese! They would get crushed! What they'll do is cut off your Oil & Gas supply & they'll wait it out to force you out of your own territory for a battle!

And yes this is a VERY militaristic view! But the U.S. is doing this & is sparing no expense & the funny thing is they have gotten you to fund their war against YOU! You think the U.S. will EVER be able to pay off a $20 Trillion USD debt? They can't even print as fast as they are spending & they tell China if you don't fund us our dollar will collapse & the money we owe you will be worthless! It's like a horse race where you keep doubling down on the horse with the worst odds hoping you can get your money back if that horse could just win one race but the horse never does & you keep doubling down to try to win your money back!

The definition of insanity is to keep doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results! And now the country that owes you trillions wants to tell you what you can or can't do in your own backyard!!!!!!!!

I was pessimistic and thought "yeah maybe not this decade Iran will have its own fighter (not mass production, but an functional demonstrator), but maybe till 2025 there should be something already in production"

I hope thats just your very pessimistc point of view and Iran will have sooner something, but OH MY GOD, 2030 is veeeery sad!

The J-10C already starts to deploy with the Chinese domestic engines.

BTW, China can offer the J-20A by 2020 considering how important Iran as China's strategic partner.

I said Stealth Fighter! F-22 Stealth Program started in 1986 by 1991 they had 2 prototypes flying YF-23 & YF-22 & the 1st production model was built in 1996 & unveiled in 1997 & they were still testing and figuring out the kinks!!!

I'm not saying Iran wont have a prototype before 2030!

I would assume both Aircrafts would use similar engines, if so that would make a lot of sense for Iran if both Fighters were offered! And Iran has to wait till 2020 for weapons embargo to end anyways...!

Even the J-10A has the IRST.

Carrying the 500 km PL-15, so here is your BVR. Since the radar & sensor of the J-10C is much more superior than the J-10B.

Well, you can see the performance of the J-20A in the Zhuhai Air Show 2016 on YouTube, to see whether the current J-20 engine is good enough.

Permit me to doubt that figure. I know it has ramjets but I've never seen 500 km as an estimate.

The maximum range between 250 to 310 miles, and the Chinese state media claims 500 km.

"stealth" is very pricey, and again, there is no real "stealth"

Reduced RCS comes in handy against other fighters not ground based radars! And I would argue that an Internal Weapons bay is essential not only in Reduced RCS but also Speed, range and maneuverability of an armed aircraft!
An F-16 is extremely maneuverable and fast when it's not fully armed but put a fuel pod & 3.000 lb of weapons payload and then see how it maneuvers...
That's why a top seed of Mach 1.6 on an F-35A is acceptable!!!!!!!!!

So having an internal weapons bay on a fighter to me may even be more important than the RCS due to increased speed, Maneuverability & range! Also, not allowing enemy to differentiate between fighters that are there for a strike vs fighter there for armed escort is also extremely important when all hell breaks loose because fighters are limited both in numbers & weapons payload which makes prioritizing your targets extremely important....
