About about that Zulfiqar program ?

The Zulfiqar program seems to be pretty much stagnated and cancelled. They have been show casing the Z-3(which lacks several important key components that a modern MBT has) for several years now yet there never were actual steps taken to start mass production. My guess its become a propaganda stunt and that the project is abandoned as a whole.

Hmm don't know if it is the right choice.. Even if we are really going to invest on foreign tank I would rather set my money on the Armata systems than an upgraded T-72

T 90 is a beast we also operate them in large number ,I wish Iranian brother all the good luck & someone can plz give me a list of how much & type of tank Iran operate

Army has sent a delegation to Moscow for negotiation.no one knows the details.

I would love to see T-90MS in Iran.

Brig. Gen. Ahmad Reza Pourdastan, the commander of Iran's Army Ground Force, said that Iran has plans to buy Russia-developed T-90 tanks and Iranian military experts would be sent to Russia to sign the contracts with Moscow.
MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Iran has plans to purchase Russia-developed T-90 tanks, the commander of Iran's Army Ground Force said Tuesday.

"Our ties with Russia in the field of equipment supply are established, and we have on our agenda the purchase of T-90 tanks," Brig. Gen. Ahmad Reza Pourdastan said, as quoted by the Iranian Tasnim News Agency.

Pourdastan added that Iranian military experts would be sent to Russia to sign the contracts with Moscow.
Russia and Iran work together in different spheres, including trade, energy, military and technical cooperation. On November 25, Russian presidential aide on military-technical cooperation Vladimir Kozhin said that Iran was interested in the entire range of Russian arms.

Military cooperation with Tehran became possible again after Iran reached an agreement on its nuclear program with the P5+1 group of international mediators on July 14. Iran agreed to ensure the peaceful nature of its nuclear program in exchange for easing of the sanctions imposed against the country.

به گزارش مشرق، امیر احمدرضا پوردستان فرمانده نیروی زمینی ارتش عصر امروز در مراسم اهدای احکام روسای هیئت‌های ورزشی این نیرو در جمع خبرنگاران و در پاسخ به سوالی در خصوص برگزاری رزمایش‌های ارتش گفت: پایان این ماه یا ماه آینده یک رزمایش ضدتروریستی و رهایی گروگان را خواهیم داشت.

وی افزود: این رزمایش مرتبط با تهدیدهای داعش و هر گروهک تروریستی دیگری است که بخواهند در مرزهای ما و یا در داخل کشور اخلال ایجاد کنند.

فرمانده نزاجا تصریح کرد: داعش و هر گروهک تروریستی در حدی نیست که ما بخواهیم عمده برنامه‌های‌مان را روی آن صرف کنیم اما انشاءالله رزمایشی مرتبط با این موضوع در منطقه اطراف تهران برگزار خواهیم کرد.

امیر پوردستان در پاسخ به سوال دیگری درباره همکاری ایران و روسیه و خرید تجهیزات از این کشور نیز گفت: ما در حوزه‌های دفاعی و ارتقای توان نظامی کاری به برجام و غیربرجام نداریم و از همه ظرفیت‌ها استفاده خواهیم کرد. هر چند خط قرمزهای‌مان در زمینه سلاح‌های هسته‌ای، شیمیایی و میکروبی را مورد توجه قرار داده و خواهیم داد.

وی افزود ما از همه ظرفیت‌های هر کشوری که باشد برای ارتقای توانمندی‌هایمان استفاده خواهیم کرد.

فرمانده نیروی زمینی ارتش با بیان این مطلب که بخشی از تجهیزات‌مان را رونمایی می‌کنیم اما بخش دیگری که ملاحظات امنیتی دارند را اعلام نمی‌کنیم، تصریح کرد: روابط ما با روسیه در زمینه برقراری تجهیزات برقرار است و در این راستا خرید تانک تی‌90 را در دستور کار داریم و انشاءالله کارشناسان ما نیز در این راستا به این کشور سفر خواهند کرد و قراردادهای مربوطه نیز منعقد خواهد شد اما تاکنون قراردادی به امضا نرسیده است.

About about that Zulfiqar program ?

I'm sure they will negotiate some type of production under license or assembly in Iran. Just like what they did about T-72 back in 90s. Iran produced 422 of them under license.
