'Iran, Pakistan top regional powers': Iran

.
Nowhere did the Iranians mention that Pakistan and Iran are 'TOP REGIONAL POWERS'. All he said was that they were two key influential Muslim countries in the region. They are neither a 'regional power' nor anywhere near the 'top'. The author of the article seems desperate to show it as such! But he's just fooling himself and the gullible who take heart in reading just the headline!

.
One more thing. Pakistan invests huge amount on the pipeline (for pipe dream). after couple years of use, India/China refuses to take gas and imports from sea route then pakistan will be royally fcuked.

India should trick into pakistan, and make it invest huge amount. We will have huge leverage over pakistan.

That's also a possibility.

Lets see in equation what people here are saying..

"A" is a buyer and "B" is a seller. Both hire "C" as a driver to transport the product from B to A. But suddenly "C" becomes more important than A and B!! "C" becomes the regional power lol. C becomes the only hope of life for buyer and seller!

From now on I'm gonna call my driver a regional power! C becomes the only hope of life for buyer and seller!

From now on I'm gonna call my driver a regional power!

How is pakistan strategically located ? Once WOT in afghanistan ends, I believe no one even locate where pakistan is on the map.

You mean just like India defeated by China (which is inevitable) and when not able to purchase high-tech weaponry from the west will be forgotten in the dustbin of history?

Speak for yourself not for China. India is our enemy country while China is our closest ally, and even Iranians themselves know Indians are not reliable. Indians first say they want to be part of the project, then say no, then say maybe. We dont even need India for anything when we have a reliable more powerful neighbour to our north-east and 185 million people of our own who can benefit from this gas pipeline from Iran.

As for sea pipeline. I have been listening to Indians dreaming about sea pipeline from Iran for years on this forum, but no such agreements or talks have been made between Iran and India. So its you who are dreaming about dream sea pipeline, while Iran is alread building our gas pipeline for Pakistan.

Your country is not even half the size of China, and already your country has 1.2 billion population while China has 1.3 billion population. 2 million of elite in india will get gas, while the rest of your people will use animal dung for cooking/heating, good for us. India is the one who will be fcked up in the future, our gas pipeline from Iran is already being built.

Are you jealous that Indonesia is stronger than Malaysia?

To the topic: Pakistan is a Regional Power, and very important in Asia.
America and China are right now competing for influence in Pakistan.
China will most probably win this contest.

China will most probably also get most of the resources from Middle East and Central Asia without losing a single soldier.

U.S. needs to learn from China:

China, Not U.S., Likely to Benefit from Afghanistan's Mineral Riches - DailyFinance

China is always friendly with all Muslim countries, thats why China will get the most out of these oil rich/resource rich Muslim majority countries.

.
Pakistan is at the crossroads of Central Asia, South Asia, Middle East, and western China while India is in the core of South Asia. Once WOT ends and U.S. leaves our region, Pakistan will connect oil rich Middle East and resource rich Central Asia to emerging superpower China while India will battle its Maoists in its north-east.
Pakistan is nowhere in the picture. It is Afghanistan that holds the key as a hub. And that is why Pakistan is desperate to install a pliable and 'friendly' government in Afghanistan so that it can gain access to this hub. It is part of the doctrine of 'Strategic Depth'. And the reason why it supports the Haqqanis.

After the US departs Afghanistan, there would be more chaos with countries vying for the Afghan pie including the CIS Republics, Iran, China, India and Pakistan. This doesn't include the 'Northern Alliance' warlords and other sundry factions. This is a veritable high explosive cocktail of conflicting interests.

The WOT as you suggest is a never ending story where Afghanistan is concerned. If Pakistan thinks all would be hunky dory once the Americans leave are barking up the wrong tree!

It is not 1971 anymore & political winds & alliances are changing directions! Though no way near perfect, but Pakistan is waking up and learning from its mistakes by having supported the west for too long.

On the other hand, Hillary aunty wants India to be a regional player

You guys go out of your way to show allegiance towards the west and israel, especially when against China & Pakistan. ... so try refraining from your hypocrisy for once ... the west is playing you guys for its interest just like it played Pakistan

.
and what these enemies can do in future ?
pakistan cant do sh*t.
and china wont do any sh*t.
ever heard of mutual assured destruction ?

after this still 50000 people died in pakistan due to terrorism !

50000 Unarmed 'Civilians'.... Do you know how many of your armed and fabulously trained troops were killed by the Tamil Tigers? the numbers also included some of your 'p(h)ara commandos. Or should we remind you. Are you sure china won't do ****? why don't you try intimidating the 'Kung Fu Panda'? :bounce:

Afghanistan is a land-locked country. It relies on Pakistan and Iran to feed its population it always has. During tensions with Afghanistan in the 1960's Pakistan closed the borders and Afghanistan begged us to open back the borders. The only strategic location of Afghanistan is that its an immediate neighbour of all Central Asian Republics, while Pakistan is separated from CAR's through the narrow Wakhan Corridor, but our closest ally China is connected to CAR's, and Pakistan is not a landlocked country so we have more leverage over Afghanistan.

Pakistan is an immediate neighbour of a Middle Eastern country (Iran), Pakistan's Gwadar is just a few miles from a Gulf Country (Oman) and is situated right next to the strategic Straits of Hormuz and its busy oil shipping lanes, Pakistan is an immediate neighbour of two most populated countries on earth (China and India) while Afghanistan is connected to China through the narrow Wakhan Corridor. India and Afghanistan do not share a border and are not neighbours.

Pakistan has more startegic importance than a land-locked Afghanistan. India has no strategic importance, its surrounded by all South Asian countries and China.

And ofcourse we would want a friendly government in all our neighbouring countries. We are not desperate, its U.S. and India whose desperate.

And no country is going to be fighting over Afghanistan once America is gone. What is India going to do, send their troops to Afghanistan like the Soviets and American did? Oh wait, the crystal ball said India will have to wait 50 more years to be a superpower, so send in your troops then

After reading Mike’s posts, I have a humble advice for the Mods. How about you guys introduce an IQ and General Knowledge prerequisite before any one can become a member our this prestigious forum. This way bandwidth can be saved from 9th grade standard questions. :P

Hey Mike, all your hypothesis have too many wishful ‘ Ifs’ which frankly dear ain’t happening. :D
Plus I must commend the compassionate nature of our other members to be patient enough to answer this Indi-Boy’s lil questions.

Hey mickey, while we are at it, how about you build an underwater pipeline that connects you to Russian gas??? I’ll give you a hint. Are you ready??? OK… The word is ‘Feasibility’! feasibility not only in accounting terms but security terms as well. Here, I helped you out in this I-R 101 tutorial as well now.

Btw, one of the reasons for the US ‘Haqqani-Network’ pressure is also because serious headway has been made in connection to this IP line, MoUs have been morphed into solid agreements and this is ringing bells for the new couple US-India ;)

The conglomerate of Iran and Pakistan has potential to convert the said partnership into the biggest energy corridor of not the region but the world! And obviously with China’s incessant need for cheap energy to support its herculean economy, it’s a win-win situation. That’s what they call ‘natural-business-alliance’
