Iran is developing MBT for 26-27 years and still the project is ongoing ( there is no usefull outcome ) ...
we are developing light jet trainer for almost 30 years and there is no result ...
don't take Iranian officials word seriously ... their only art is to make life harder for ordinary Iranian ...
U.S. built the NR-1 which was a 400 tone nuclear powered sub in the late 60's
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_submarine_NR-1
It would likely have limited power and speed but it will be well within Iran's capabilities to build within the next decade!
Building small nuclear power subs may give you an advantage over other small subs BUT overall it will NOT have any advantage over larger diesel Subs like the Kilo Class or the Dolphin class let alone larger nuclear submarines!
For a nuclear powered sub to make sense it would have to be about the same size or larger than the Kilo Class (at least 4,000 tones fully loaded and submerged) & Iran is not likely to invest in such a large vessel any time soon!
A 1000-1500 tone Diesel subs would be far more capable than a 400-800tone nuclear power sub and it would probably cost the same!
