What hundreds kilometers?
it flew 30km in Israeli territory, what military bases? Dimona? it wasnt near to Dimona to spy on it, and spy with what?
"The drone, which was airborne for three hours before being intercepted by an F-16 jet, is believed to have
transmitted pictures of preparations for Israel’s biggest joint military exercise with the US army, which began last week, as well as
ballistic missile sites, main airfields and, possibly, its nuclear reactor in Dimona."
Security shambles as Hezbollah drone spies on Israeli army | The Sunday Times
"According to the footage, “Ayyoub” was launched from Lebanon and flew south over the Mediterranean Sea, avoiding detection by Israeli coastal radar before it reached the Gaza Strip.
From the Hamas-controlled territory, the drone proceeded to the Negev Desert before it was shot down by the Israeli air force. The aircraft traversed a total of 300 kilometers, the narrator of the program said.
The drone had a potential range of 1,000 kilometers and was in the air for approximately three hours. The UAV lacked a payload of armaments, but could be fitted with bombs."
Hezbollah claims drone flight in Israel | News , Politics | THE DAILY STAR
Even if you believe what Israel claimed, it was 35 miles (56 km), and they are obviously trying to downplay the incident as much as possible. While Hezbollah could exaggerate - truth is probably somewhere in the middle, 100+ km.
where are the images? and what value these images will have? if hezbullah had them they would publish them! Maybe IAF wanted to examine the drone? to try and figure out is it preprogrammed flightpath or real-time control etc, it was closely escorted by F-16 so if anything threatening this drone might have attempt to do it could be easily and instantaneously shot down.
Why would Hezbollah show pictures of strategic value? Is Israel posting pictures online of Iranian military bases? No? Think about why.
About IAF "examining" drone while escorting it for half an hour in Israel's territory is a spin for
naive - in reality they would shoot it down the instant it entered its air space (if not sooner). IAF claimed they wanted to check if its armed, etc., but its a really weird explanation. What if it was armed and start launching missiles, is that the time to shoot drone down? Oops, too late.
