If you mean , Gonen Segev , who was sentenced for 11 years , in Iran he would be fore sure executed. But are legal system is much more compassionate.
His name and details of arrest where publicized the minute he was arrested and long before he was convicted. You cant sentence a person without informing the public.
The principle of open justice is the only way to ensure that the court proceeding are fair and that the state does not abuse it's power.

You can't just eliminate people and sentence them without the public even knowing there name.
State can sometime change this rule in cases of national security and have a trail behind closed doors , or in order to protect a minor.
But in no way can they sentence a person without making his name known to the public. That is the only way to ensure a fair trial with proper legal representation.
Do you even know if those people sentenced had legal representation ? ofcourse not, You dont even know their names.
BTW m it is not the first time Iran sentence people without giving them the chance to defend themselves with proper legal representation.
I think this should concern you more than the current story.
This story will pass in a few weeks , but you will remain with a rotten to the core , legal system.
