Iran building missile to hit UK :Prime minister David Cameron

IRAN is developing an intercontinental nuclear missile that could target Britain, David Cameron warned yesterday.

The PM spelled out the threat after a briefing from spy chiefs, as MPs quizzed him on the stand-off over Iran's nuclear ambitions.

Mr Cameron said: "It is clearly very dangerous for the region, because it would trigger a nuclear arms race. But also it's more broadly a danger.

"There are signs the Iranians want intercontinental missile capability. We have to be clear — this is a threat potentially much wider than just Israel and the region."

Iran's existing missiles, like the Sejil-2, can hit targets 1,200 miles away, like Israeli capital Tel Aviv. Iranian capital Tehran is 2,740 miles from London. The new intelligence assessment emerged after Cabinet talks. In a rare move, MI6 chief Sir John Sawers and the PM's National Security Adviser Sir Kim Darroch were asked to address ministers.

Mr Cameron again stressed it was crucial to keep the option of military action open.
He said: "Nothing is off the table. If sanctions don't work there will come a moment for a very difficult decision."

President Barack Obama warned against "beating the drums of war" over Iran. He said the US has imposed "unprecedented crippling sanctions" on Iran — but did not rule out force. He said: "We will not countenance Iran getting a nuclear weapon."

Britain, France, Germany, the US, Russia and China yesterday accepted an offer of fresh talks from Iran after the last round ended in failure 14 months ago.

Israeli PM Binyamin Netanyahu warned this week his country "won't wait much longer" to defend itself. Iran already has the biggest stock of ballistic missiles in the region.

Some facts needed here, I think. One: Iran DID go to war with Iraq in the l980's, a rather pointless fracas that effectively ended in stalemate. They also had a great empire at one time (it was Persia, don't forget), so have not always been quite so self-contained as they appear now. Having said that, Iran would have no reason at all to attack UK with nuclear warheads UNLESS WE GAVE THEM REASON TO DO SO. Any more than Iraq would have done. Iran is concerned about its own region, and whilst Israeli government policies crush Palestine, Iran will continue to sabre-rattle, unfortunately. It is about time the US and UK as well as some other European states learned to behave with civility to other sovereign nations, then we wouldn't be endangered by their hostility. Also, as, two: Israel has the largest, and one of the only stockpiles of nuclear weapons in the region, is it any wonder the Islamic states feel threatened? I mean, who else are Israel's weapons meant for? Hardly any of its western friends. Don't get me wrong - I'm not anti-semitic, only anti aggressive Israeli government policies, as are many of my UK friends who are Jewish.

I doubt Iran with their limited military strength has any intention and/or capabilities to attack the European countries. Israel regime on the other hand, is the real threat in the region with its vast nuclear weapons provoking its enemies due of its aggressive foreign policy. That's not how you live with your neighbourly countries. Why is Israel the exception, and why don't the US, GB & European Union sanction them as other countries? There are two laws applied to Israel and other Middle countries which are very bias.

You better know that the commander in chief of all armed forces in Iran is the supreme leader not president.However i hate to repeat it again that what Ahmadinejad said was intentionally mistranslated,but even if he wanted to attack another country he couldn't do that.The leader has said dozens of time that Iran will never ever attack another country unless Iran get attacked..
