Iran begins issuing 30 days Visa on Arrival

That's because they think they can solve economic problems with the short cut of "tourism". Don't worry. It will fail. Tourism never brings in that much money, specially in a country like Iran which has Hijab laws and alcohol laws. Tourists travel to enjoy themselves, having a good time, visit beaches, go to night clubs and drink. Instead of solving the economic problems by increasing production, they think they can attract tourists. This is a flawed thinking.

It is because India is a larger economy. Pakistan on the other hand, has economic problems of its own. Pakistan itself charges Iranian citizens several times more money for the visa than it charges Indian citizens, even upto ten times more: Pakistani Visa Fee for Various Countries

So, don't complain.

Unfortunately and I hate saying this in Pakistan majority are partial to Iran as evidenced by polls however significant minority are extremely hostile to the the point they could pose security threat. Result people like me are penalized so as to grip people like @Salman Zahidi whose probably some migrant from India in Karachi but thinks he has royal Persian blood running in his veins. To off set the compensatory effect of this you see the rabid behaviour.

I mean the sad reality ( but strength requires a person to accept the bitter realities ) is that our friend of the "higher than the mountains, deeper than the oceans" fame China will treat American, Isreali, Indian visitors better.

And frankly I don't blame them.

.
Seems that YOU ARE one of those Al Saud worshippers. Otherwise why would you get offended by ''Al Saud worshippers are not welcome'' ?

Get a life Al Saud worshipper.

Since there is minimal trade relations btw Iran and Pakistan....

The only people who visit Iran these days from Pakistan are Shia pilgrims

Even if some Pakistanis are fond of Saudia Arab than what's your problem. Sunnis around the world doesn't have low opinion about Saudis much. Learn to accept this reality whether you arrogant punks like it or not.

P.S Pakistanis never have low opinion about Iran, Iraq or any Shia majority country either. They all are welcome here.

I do not think the situation is that bad. No body is getting penalized. Getting Iran's visa is actually very easy for Pakistani citizens. Tens of thousands of Pakistanis enter Iran every month. The issue has always been the visa fee, which is high on both sides. There are two other problems: drugs smuggling and the fact that Iran is a human trafficking route in which people try to go to Turkey and onward to Europe. In fact this last issue was the one Turkey and EU always complain about to Iran.

.
Well it is because Pakistan also doesn't allow iran citizen without visa.

Earlier citizen of iran were given visa on arrival to pakistan but musharaf change it so around 2004-05

And it is better for both countries for NOW. Would you want one of religious fanatics doing any of these things in Iran? Go on a anti Shia war?

It is my friend. It is. Depends what yardstick you use. I live in Europe. Please tell me why I can drive ( i have done that countless times ) to Catholic Ireland, Catholic France, Protestant Germany without even anybody asking my name despite me visibly looking non European?

And in Pak/Iran context I would not look any differant from from Iranian people, being the same religion, sharing similar social outlook and I have to get visa from Pakistan to Iran and vice versa.

Agree with you.

Good for both countries and i want both these countries to improve the border security situation and proper fencing

Frankly there was no need to mention his background just because you disagree with him....these migrants as you call them built Karachi and this coming from someone living up-country !

Well even in EU things were not always like this. There were problems. But you know that already. In Muslim world we are living through an age which would be analogous to Europe and Christian world's dark ages transiting into the renaissance. It will take time to reach European maturity. It can be speeded up but still needs time.

Well i have nothing against Pakistanis either but some of them on this forum have called for killing of Shias.

So Indian's get on arrival visa and Pakistanis dont...A slap on the face of Ayatollah's blind followers in Pakistan...
The Arab countries like Kuwait and all ban Pakistanis altogether and most Gulf states give a preference to Indian workers.

We don't see the wannabe Arabs and Arab followers in Pakistan getting slapped on the face. Why the select hate for those Pakistanis who like Iran.

.
A while back I had an idea to visit Iran and I checked visa requirement for Sri Lankan passport holders and it says it is "visa free" but this list doesn't mention SL?

Visa_policy_of_Iran.png
The laws on visa are the most weird laws i've ever read about . Some of our enemies get visa upon arrival , and some of our closest allies get their privilege revoked .

i think it's an awkward mixture of bilateral relations and security reasons .
Bangladesh did not get on arrival visa

He is generally a racist. Not for the first time this has been noted of him and its just not me having such opinions about him. Anyways no hard feelings.

Agree. Valid point. Apology.

Agree with you.

You see there is far more at stake here then what meets the eye. The fundamental issue that we in Pakistan have to face and address is this.

1. Do we want to look West and become part of a block with our Western neighbours over the long term.

2. Do we want to undo 1947 in practice and become part of India based block like British India?

It is this simple. If it is No. 1 then we had better start the process to adapting our thinking and policies NOW so that over the long term we can open our borders to our Muslim neighbours on our western borders with Iran being the most significant country.

Increasingly my feeling is that Pakistan is like one of those boarding houses where people just stay until they go back to where they came from. In this case being India. If this is the cadse then Pak needs to make up it's mind and secure peace with India. This bullshat of having animosity for India ( which costs billions of dollars every year ) but then keeping this barely concealed "dhesi brotherhood" alive on the other hand spitting fire and venom on our Western Muslim neighbours has to stop. This schizophrenic thinking cannot be afforded by our poor. They pay the price while Zahidi's of Pakistan can play the double game.
