Iran, Airbus strike deal for 12 A-380, 16 A-350 jets

I don't get it , why they ordered A320ceo and A330ceo instead of A320neo and A330neo ?

A-330NEO's first delivery is expected in 2019 and there are 180 planes already in order and for A-320NEO the delivery has been started a week ago (for Lufthansa) yet there are 4500 planes in order.if we want to have all the planes with new engine option (NEO) we have to wait a lot more.

Now we can receive some airplanes in few months and wait for other NEO airplanes as IranAir expands its works and destinations.

I am afraid they will fail to use those A380s properly anyway. 12 is too much even by 2020.

my guess those a380 and a350 are for north and south amrica route maybe they also want to use some for Tokyo and Beijing

the best we can hope for those planes are some maintenance facilities the plan was to get some assembly line for SSJ-100

Negative, IKIA's runway is not suitable for A-380.runway's length is ok but its asphalt is not suitable.for instance last year an Emirate A-380 managed to land on IKIA, half loaded because of IKIA's limits.

for IKIA they have to strengthen one of its runways as a short term answer or they should accelerate the construction of IKIA phase 2.besides Tehran, ADP company will upgrade Mashhad and Esfahan for A-380 flights as well.

I mentioned IKIA 'cause I remembered that Emirate A-380 landed there last year but I didn't realize it was half loaded ...then if it's true that they are supposed to be delivered by the end of the year ( I dunno Gregorian or Solar calendar ) then we don't have time I hope IKIA phase 2 finally get finished ...
Moreover as you mentioned having one runway for landing in whole country isn't wise what if there would be an emergency landing situation in case?
