Iran accuses Saudi Arabia of hitting embassy in Yemen air strike

Saudi jets "deliberately" struck Iran's embassy in Yemen in an air raid that wounded staff, Tehran's foreign ministry said Thursday, as tensions between the two regional powers mounted.

"This deliberate action by Saudi Arabia is a violation of all international conventions that protect diplomatic missions," foreign ministry spokesman Hossein Jaber Ansari was quoted as saying by state television.

"The Saudi government is responsible for the damage caused and for the situation of members of staff who were injured," Ansari added, without specifying when the alleged strike took place.

The Vienna Convention regulates an embassy vs the host country,
but I am not so sure that it has any extra protection compared to any other
civilians in the area, when a third country attacks.

Interesting situation legally...

It will of course not improve the relations with Iran.

Well, seems like another lie of Iranians....since no pics has been revealed eventhough hours passed.

Mobs attacked the embassy. If a Pakistan terrorist group does something, we Iranians don't blame all Pakistanis, so I don't see why you are blaming all of Iran for the actions of a few idiots.

Our country arrested them (we arrested 50 protestors) and are investigating it very seriously to see if any group was behind it. We showed regret with a letter to UN.

I'm sorry to say when Pakistani or Saudi terrorist groups kill our diplomatics in serious attacks against our embassies, we never consider it as an action by the whole country. But if one Iranian breaks an embassy window, then it becomes the fault of the whole country? This is unfair.
The main thing is that our security agencies arrive at the scene and kill them, not actually plan it... anyways i don't want to get in this discussion, you wanna make fun using terrorism you can, i just want the root cause eliminated, the sunni shia shit...

My loyalty lies with JUSTICE first.

I am a Shia of Pakistan. I love Pakistan. I have never taken a weapon in my hand.

But Pakistani State failed to protect my family, my relatives. We have been killed in thousands at the hands of Takfiries.

At last, when we started taking weapons in our own hands and started defending ourselves, then we are called Iranian Agents and we were put equally bad as Takfiries.

But how come I am so bad as Takfiries?

We Shias have not killed even a Single Pakistani Soldier. We have not fired a single bullet at our Army. In fact we love Pak Army and we love Pakistani Constitution, but still we are considered equal to Takfiries who have Pak Army and who say Pakistani Constitution is a Kafir constitution.

For sure Iran has been fighting the war of it's Existence.

Saudia, Qatar, Kuwait, Abu Dhahabi started this offensive war since the beginning of Iranian Revolution but providing above 50 Billion USD to Saddam Hussain to kill the Iranians.

Same offensive war continues today by Saudies and it's allies.

16 year old are we? what is justice but your COUNTRY's judicial system, what kind of system are you talking about?

And i am not A FUCKING SUNNI of Pakistan, I AM A PAKISTANI MUSLIM... THAT'S IT!

K and what about everybody else that got killed, were all of them shia?

Nobody ever called anybody iranian agents here... usually it's raw and all...

So what!? everybody is fighting a war of it's existance, nobody is special, what if america stopped designing hi tech weapons today, what do you think will happen after 20 years... why are you so infatuated with iran?

THAT IS THEIR PROBLEM!!!

We are not their scape goat anymore we have learnt to say no...

We are Pakistanis. Whatever religion anyone belongs to is a private matter. If someone wants to be a Shia be my guest. If someone is a Wahabbi that also is a personal choice. What we don't want is a Shia Sunni war on our turf. It is a fact that both Saudi Arabia and Iran have been at each others throats and not shying away from using violence against each other. We cannot afford any of that on our soil. Any Shia or Sunni promoting intolerance i.e. hatred needs to be dealt with an iron fist. We are Pakistanis and not Iranians or Saudis.
Indeed Sir... Indeed...

@MastanKhan Sir, what do you say now, ours was a sane decision right? staying away from yemen?

@MastanKhan Sir, what do you say now, ours was a sane decision right? staying away from yemen?

Sir,

If you think about pakistan---it was the worst diecision---if you think about suadi arabia--it was again a terrible decision.

Pakistanis need to understand that a fighting force is just not built by procuring advanced weapons---. I does compensate----but to a certain extent.

So---when saudi arabia asked us for help----they already knew that their military was not upto parr---and we also knew that as well.

So---if pak military had gone in---the job could have been done in a much better and professional manner----could have presented the yemeni shia's of the terrible consequences and found ways to compromise---.

So---from a position of strength---to look for a compromise---they could have stood in between yemeni shia's and saudis and found ways and means to bring the level to animosity down.

It would also had given the pak military to expand---and become a deciding factor of taking care of disputes in the region----.

In order for pakistan to become financially strong---it needed to grow militarily----it needed to grow outside of its borders----it needed to make its mark on the foreign land as a force in charge---.

A 50000 troops to start with---leading upto 150000 troops in that region----would create jobs in the region for a million plus household immediatley and the influx of funds would start and create multiple new industrial complexes---colleges univ--hospitals---.

This agreement if signed could have been in the range of 20 billion dollars for the first year---and coming down to around 5 billion dollars every year----.

It would have given pakistan military bases in yemen-----the threat of indian military strike would evaporate in thin air----as a matter of fact---pakistan would have had more say in how many more pakistanis could be hired in other fields---.

Now as for the safety of my shia brethren in pakistan---shame on the govt for not taking charge---if it was upto me---I would start a cleanup operation of anti shia elements without any warning and neutralize them without any fanfare.

Bottomline is---Iran is never a tructed ally of any nation----wherever iran's influence has gone in---it has resulted in a lots of bloodshed and instability---.

I thought the Yemeni shia would be more knowledgeable of the fact.

In this war against terror---when many of the christian nation stood together to fight---the first opportunity that the major muslim power pakistan had to act---it stuck its tail between its legs and scampered off waving the white flag.

In this instance---the enemy has succeeded in fracturing the friendship between two countries---.

At this time----other than china---there is no other country that pakistan can look forward to in time of dire need----what a shame.

So your issue with Iran is that our security forces didn't kill them and just arrested them?

50 protestors were arrested. It was not planned by the government.

Doesn't matter, government did nothing to stop the protesters from burning and raiding the embassy. It's no different.

And you have a long history of looting and raiding embassies. I know it's hard for you but you really need to start at least ,acting like civilized human beings.

No. YOUR leaders are to blame for your problems, for receiving money and letting some rotten ideology inside your country, besides funding and arming that 'ideology' to teeth in 90s. Don't blame foreigners for your domestic problems.

And Iran is innocent and doing nothing. Wake up and face the reality

One person or two threw molokov cocktails. There was a small fire due to that and the fire was put out. 50 people were arrested.

When an attack happens anywhere in the world, its due to "terrorists" but if an Iranian does anything in Iran OR ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, it becomes our whole country.

We don't treat you in such a generalized manner.

Mate, you are not understanding...I'm not generalizing Iranians.

Look at the footage.

Hundreds of protesters at the gate of the Saudi Embassy. Where are the police ???

When we have strained relationship with "x" country, police immediately deploys 5-6 of riot police buses (150-200 riot police), iron barriers, 2 Riot control vehicles, and they secure the premises around the embassy. (Israel embassy is very close to where i work, i witnessed protections several times).

Why you are not protecting the embassy ? It's the Iranian governments duty. If you won't protect it against the attacks, it might give people the impression of Iranian police being complicit in these attacks.

Never knew somebody threw molotovs... that's a revelation to me...

And small fire? is this a petty matter now?

There are many pictures of the police there. But keep in mind that this was a consulate in Mashhad, they probably underestimated the crowd, and assumed most attention would be on their Tehran embassy. And nothing happened in Tehran embassy in the capital.

Never knew somebody threw molotovs... that's a revelation to me...

It's not a petty matter, that's why 50 people were arrested, and all the top officials in the government condemned the incident, and our President wrote a letter to the UN regarding it. They also are investigating the matter seriously, and the legal case for those arrested has been ordered to handled at top priority.

But it was still a small fire. The whole building did not burn, no one died, and no one got injured. If it happened in any other country, it would not even make the news. The only embassy attacks in other countries that makes the news is when a bomb blows up and people die.
