84 children dead today and this is just the tip of the iceberg. All attacks are originating from Afghanistan.

How do we go about invading Afghanistan and slicing Kunar and Nooristan and isolating these areas so we can flatten it till everyone is dead.

We will not see peace in Pakistan if the source of terrorism is not destroyed.

How many men do we need? What guns? Planes? How long?

The toll has surpassed 100 and if you are talking about invading Afghanistan, NATO couldn't do it, what can Pakistan do? Also the Pakistani and Afghan Taliban have different motives.

We can't "invade" afghanistan nor we should.

But we should strike those talibitiches hiding in Kunar and nooristan.

Send in SF,strike them with arty and jets!

Decimate these bastards!

We don't need to worry, once they are finished. If Afghanistan cant do, we can, we have enough fire power to destroy them to ashes.

This is too much, really too much..

It seems you have no clue of what counter insurgency warfare is all about. Militants don't have fixed defensive positions like pillboxes etc that you can send in aircraft to bomb them like in a conventional war. Even artillery won't be too effective unless it is used to destroy known hideouts using surprise and deception. Even these would be manned by only a few. And seeing the terrain obtaining there, bombing and artillery fire would not be too effective.

The ratio needed to fight insurgents is 17:1, meaning that 17 soldiers are required to neutralize 1 insurgent. So if you are facing an army of 1000 terrorists, the army would need approximately 17,000 soldiers or one entire division!

And then going all the way into Afghanistan with an entire division into Kunar or Nooristan is easier said than done. Who would secure movement of your convoys through NW and Afghanistan? How about logistics? Road space? And most of all, would Afghanistan allow Pakistani troops to operate on its soil?

Thanks for details, but how should be we deal with it? It's clear like crystal that after Army operation the rats hideouts in areas called Kunnar and Nooristan. Could a joint operation by Pak Afg and NATO armies not effected?

Perhaps you don't read my post correctly ? I suggested raids and strikes on militants based on Intel. And yes we have conducted military operations inside afghan territory you should have read that on this very forum.

How about we clean up our own country infected with talibichis first, before we go on adventures like invading a sovereign nation.

Pakistans problem has a simple solution.

Deport all Afghans legal or illegal
Close down all Madrassah period
Actually punish the Terrorist, capture the hate preachers charge them with terrorism and hang them, on the same day of capture.
Kill the ones in captivity
Confiscate all properties, belonging to dead or alive terrorist.
Publish the name and pictures of terrorist in media

the spirit is understandable ; however the means are irrational.

invasion is a small word what we need to do is get into a Afghanistan then clear the entire border area and then extend our boundary inside afghanistan and make it clear to the afghan government that we will not allow any more afghans inside pakistan .We have to ask our selves that are we at war .we as a nation have been struck time and time again yet we do not know who is the enemy the enemy is within the enemy is without who is the enemy and how long will our nation sleep .i fear that we are heading to words a far greater trial and that we have to prepare ourselves

Pakistan army do premp strikes inside Afghanistan time after time. But they are all covert operations and coordinated attack with NATO.

Invading Afghanistan won't solve the problem. Terrorism do not have stationary and identifiable assets that need to be targeted, they rely on hardened individuals and smart tactics to exert their influence.

Addressing the menace of terrorism requires lot of hard work and many nations should be on-board for this. War is not the solution, addressing the genuine root-causes of terrorism is which is highly challenging and ambitious task.

Terrorists and terrorist activities are typically identified with aid of intelligence related activities and effectively countered with rapid reaction forces and high-tech weapon systems such as drones.

Pakistan needs to develop an ambitious monitoring system along Durand Line, improve educational standards in tribal regions, develop a database of all individuals living in Pakistan, improve internal security situation and law & Order system, and plan a solution for cross-border activities of Pashtun populace that is spread in both Pakistan and Afghanistan. It is also important to uplift living standards of poverty-stricken people to minimize their exploitation with lure of money for nefarious activities from sponsors of terrorism.

The aforementioned developments require utmost commitment of our leadership and strategists to understand the root-causes of terrorism and address them effectively.

Unfortunately, Pakistan remains divided on ideological and political grounds and personal interests take priority. Pakistan must be united on ideological and political grounds and promote brotherhood. In addition, nations are also split on national interests and fail to understand that their nefarious policies fuel radicalism and terrorism.
