IA RAPID gets an edge as it moves south-east or south-west. Its actually a very good move by Indians. The more south it comes, the more plains area it can operate on leaving the hills behind it.

South-east it goes towards Sialkot. South-west it goes towards Kharian.

New Delhi: Intense cross-border firing has started again in Akhnoor and Nowshera sectors on the Line of Control and the International Border in Jammu and Kashmir. Sources have told NDTV that the Border Security Force and the Army are strongly retaliating.

After nearly 72 hours, firing by Pakistani rangers had stopped around 5.30 am today. "Pakistan has resumed heavy shelling along LoC in Bhawani, Karali, Said, Numb and Sher Makri areas of Rajouri district this evening," said the District Collector of Rajouri, Shahid Iqbal Choudhary.

Sepoy CK Roy, who was injured fighting in a forward post in Mankote sector of Poonch died at a military hospital late night. With his death the number of persons killed in Pakistani firing along the LoC and International Border in the five districts of Jammu, Kathua, Samba, Poonch and Rajouri since Thursday rose to 11. Among the 11 dead are six civilians, three armymen and two BSF jawans.

Akhnoor Sector of Indian and Pakistani side is known as Chicken's Neck it is a very strategic strip and Pakistan has always played it to our advantage. in Operation grand slam it was Indian mistake to use tanks and let them try again because now Pakistan has a new anti tank toy that needs to be tested here.

Civilians need to be evacuated. If the Indian minister is threatening to push forward I'm sure the average young men from the Pakistani villages of Punjab will be eager to get their AK47s, rifles and handguns out to go hunting.

There is enough paramilitary on both borders of Pakistan to keep regular forces for offensives that civies will not be required. The current scenario is a display of firepower and finding targets on LOC.
