Can somebody tell any achievement of IB other than keeping eye on political opponents? What's the achievement of DGII, FMU? And why we have NACTA, CTD & NCMC for more or less same roles? There are lot of guys in I.B which are retired from Army,and they are there from many decades,nothing has improved.

I think it's logical to get it on its feet and working, deapite whom takes control right now

My Suggestion is it should be someone from a civilian circle and preferably someone from PSP Cadre. Because Army is already heading MI and ISI, so FIA and IB should fall under civilians.

Psp's been heading it since time immemorial with no progress to show. Hopefully psp is itself going to get ban for good when the police reforms would be put into effect

Although one can clearly see the logic behind it after the kind of IB chiefs we had in the near past who made IB just a tool for government to spy on their political rivals and journalists. But involving Army into everything is not the answer.

We have to do capacity building of civil institutions, that is the only way forward. Shoaib Suddle, Nasir Durrani, Zulifqar Cheema etc are products of civil institutions, we just have to create an environment so that more honest and capable officers can come up.

So we cant find any competent person among 220 million people? Army is neutral here. Thats what you want to imply. See army is not solution for everything. We have tried Army men on every post in Pakistan and we wouldn't be in this situation now. We have army time too does it became any better? So solution is not just bring army men.we need to deploticize these and bring competent people.

I have only seen in Pakistan. K adara thek ni ha to uper army wala bitha do. We have army walas in defense departments we know well how they are performing.

IB has presence all over Pakistan. They have done major actions against terrorism. Every time you hear an Intelligence Based Operation it's always not ISI but many times it's IB and others

Ala-Hazarat, CTD, NACTA, NCMC are there to conduct intelligence based anti-terrorism operations. Even FIA also conduct IBOs it's separate thing they chase dildos and Viagra more than terrorists.
