If I remember correctly than it was Command and conquer general.. but game didn't start any way..

Really it runs superbly on my system i think you should upgrade your wine version

I run heavy games like castle vania,starcraft and sims on lubuntu

It depends if you are a gamer than i would recommend windows cuz i dont know many people who are willing to learn linux terminal commands just to play video games but if you are a light user than you need to get linux now its free,its light and its virus free well sort of

There are plenty of scaled down versions of Linux like the now defunct Damn Small Linux or Knoppix which last time I read was x86 only.

Such flavours are either for embedded systems or if you want to run them on really old hardware

as everyone which has basic skill how Linux systems work, from startup to the root files, and it can be easy to manipulate these systems to hack it or you can say remotely access it..

it was latest version, but in wine there were her own file system in root directories where wine saves and install its file in its own folders other than main ubuntu software centers files..

I have got a Windows 8.1 Pro + Media Center and downloaded the ISO image of Win10.While trying to upgrade if you try to use your Windows 8 key it doesn't work.

Never had issues with Windows 7 and above.Reinstalled Windows 8 last time because I have upgraded my SSD from 32GB to 128GB.

no as long as you dont grant root access it aint easy to.manipulate plus with it being open source its free of spyware
Wine will install all files in its own c program directory

I use a desktop and a laptop. Desktop runs on Ubuntu. My laptop is Lenovo Y510p and used to run on Windows 8.1 till this morning, which got upgraded to Windows 10. Post-upgrade any form of network connection is not working, WiFi or Ethernet. I checked the drivers in Device Manager, they are fine. Any idea what went wrong ?

Win 10 upgrade doesn't support clean install from ISO. you need to have a legit 7/8.1, and upgrade via official MS Update the first time, so that Microsoft has your HWID recorded on their authentification server. Only then, the next time you can delete previous OS, and clean install from ISO/Disc/USB, etc. Because of your previous upgrade has already left a HWID on their system, it will auto-authentificate, and will not ask you to enter the product key. You need to buy a retail Win10 license key, if you just want to install from an ISO image you downloaded from the web.

Oh, mind you, win 10 doesn't have Media Centre any more, you will get some replacement apps... but I know there are some ppl out there love Media centre, so just bear that in mind.
