What's new

INS Vikramaditya

Man things are getting interesting, IN has come out of nowhere to start delivering major developments. We are in for some fun guys, some of the most advanced ships ever built are coming to IN. It is incredible to think IN is now able to design, build and operate $1BN frigates (P-17A) and that two frigates more advanced, larger and more capable than most destroyers of many navies!!! Who would've thought 10-15 years ago IN would be able to spend $10 BN on a project on P-17A??!!Am so looking forward to IN's future! Nuke ACC within 15 years for sure.

nuke ACC within 7-8 years ;)

Its not a normal Ship . Remember ACCs are considered as islands . A nuke attack on ACC is considered as attack on country, Any plane flying near a country's ACC should take its permission says ACCs are some thing special . Btw Viraat,Vikrant,Vikramaditya all are male names .
Yes we need to break this tradition of refering ships as female. Atleast not all. Viraat, Vikrant & Vikarmaditya are hunks & at no condition they shd be referred as beauty.

full power of IN, face it :)

Ships have been regarded as being feminine fo centuries. That will not be changed now.

Good luck with that.
And tell me when you manage to do that.:pop:

How does the CBG of Vik/IAC1 compare with the CBG of the Viraat, does anybody know?

Anyone know how they name the ships?

Aren't the frigates named after cities, minesweepers after states?

Can anyone shed some light on that?

The only rule for naming in the IN is that all ships of a certain class begin with the same syllable. Talwar, Thrishul, THrikhand, Teg etc, Shivalik, Sahyadri, Satpura etc, Sindhughosh, sindhuraj, sindhuvir etc, shishumar, shalki etc and so on. Although sometimes this rule is not followed, like the ones named after cities.

ships have always been referred to as "her" its a tradition which has carried on for centuries.:)
