Navy couldn't risk the salvage operation when they couldn't still get the total pictures and as the sub is inside the harbor,we couldn't risk while there is live torpedos and missiles in there..so,Navy wants to play safe by using professional expertise..

So you are saying India has no professional expertise? May be with couple more ships blown up India can become an expert in salvaging sunken ships, as India is quite adept in salvaging crashed fighter planes due to the vast experience in that department.

Indian incompetency is beyond belief. The ship is in 10-feet of water, right next to the dockyard. Why can't you salvage it? Blow it up, drill it open, cut it through. How hard can it be?

then thats not called salvaging.whats the purpose of destroying the vessel when no person is assumed to be alive aboard.the purpose of salvaging is to enquire the possible cause of the disaster and for that the vessel must be recovered as it is..the salvaging vehicles in the indian navy can be used in the deep sea catastrophes not at shallow waters.presently water is being pumped out of the compartments and it would be pulled out..heres the words directly from the admiral d.k.joshi

Sub has been damaged beyond repair ....Unlikely to be viable for any repairs....

Given the extent of damage to Sub ---I have grave doubts about her viability ...It will be easier to build new sub than repair this one.

Agree, mostly. Though if explosion damage is limited to one section, you could possibly cut and replace that. Then again, the whole boats has been filled with water, which can't be good for any of the systems contained in the hull. Probably economic write off.

What is the story on the second damaged submarine ? How much damage , did it sustain from the fire and explosions ? I saw some initial reports but afterwards , nothing .

Indian Navy urgently needs to reflect on itself. Not long ago they managed to sink a frigate too, this time a submarine. They made a mess of the Scorpene deal. Officer overlooking Vikramaditya construction in Russia caught himself in honeytrap, local navy men swapping wives. It is just all fukked up at the moment.
