Information Pool & Analysis on Pakistan's AF Aspiration for Su-35 / Su-35S - FLANKER-E

we could get "Kabli" engines and then i would believe you :-) haha, sorry

It would be a nice joke except it isn't.

china has trouble making reliable jet engines. there is a reason your JF-17 are powered by Russian RD-93s. India's jet engine program is dead.

.
We still have zero indication that an official confirmation is coming. All we know is that the Su-35 was discussed at some point, but I'd also wager that so was the Typhoon and perhaps the J-10.

I'd wait, if I were you, before calling victory.

I continue to believe that PAF will be looking at a next gen option only. The only role I can see for the Su-35 is maritime security.

I think he means the rest of the fighter, but with a different engine.

Personally, I don't see the point, as the engine is the biggest attraction of the Su-35.
Sir your denial is amusing but this is going to happen soon and as per reports we are also testing several Air Defence systems I am also hoping to see PANTSIR S-2 in Pakistan.

.
now another question

how is su-35?

@Imran Khan

I think Su-35 looks something like this.

Personally i won't get my hopes up to much. I prefer to wait and will only get excited when i will see the jets in Pak colours

Well while the discussions have gone on for quite few years , I will not jump to conclusion till an official order is placed

Seen this dance in past as well

I personally don't see why is there a delay

Algeria / Moroco / Egypt / Indonesia all have in past placed decent orders with Russia

For us replacing 192-200 Planes is only possible by tapping in external order

. .
Well it is true we should try to remain on the Sukhoi35 topic, appears the preliminary discussions are moving ahead gracefully. Of course 192 planes to be replaced is a big number , and this cannot be achieved by just local production.

Obviously the difficulty to induct F16 has been quite negative - even all the hard work that went in passing 2-3 stages

At least 1 new platform has to be inducted, just to help retire 192 planes that are waiting in queue for retirement

However I don't completely understand why our purchasing process is extremely slow

This talk has been going on for a few years now, and nothing has come of it.

Laugh all you want, but keep in mind that we've seen "reports" of systems that PAF was going to buy, but nothing came of it.
