Inequality has put 100 million Americans below poverty line

I doubt that this conclusion automatically follows from my words.
It must be because you mentioned 'bum beggars cardboard box'.

Here is the federal guideline on the poverty level...

ASPE

If you are single and make only $11,500/yr, either the economy is really really really bad, as in a depression, or that there is something seriously wrong with you. But the reality is that the vast majority of Americans who are classified as being at/below the federal guideline on poverty, they are often obese, nearly always have at least one car, have solid roofs over their heads, cell phones, cable TVs, and eat out at least once a week, and am not talking about McDonald's either.

I never claimed that 100 million people in America - are homeless.
I verified the only that being homeless in America no better than being homeless in India or Africa or Ukraine.
In any case, to be poor in any country - badly. I very much doubt that someone who lives at the bottom of the social ladder in USA comforts himself with the thought that in other countries even worse. Although perhaps this is true for immigrants.

.
I am always surprised when people say that to be homeless beggars in the U.S. or Europe is better than being homeless beggars in Asia or Africa.
As if every homeless when climbs into his cardboard box or warm his hands over a fire from a metal drum is thinking - God, how cool is that I am an American bum, and not Cambodia or Congo bum.
This is nonsense. If you are a beggar bum - you do not happy, no matter where you live. Maybe European and American even envy Indian homeless bums - there is always summer, and at least frost will not kill you.
:omghaha: Yup buddy. True. My respect.

Its all relative. If poor in US means he can't just afford what's in US. In $ 1 he can't get a proper meal, but can get a meal in India, $ 1 = 62 rps.

.
JEW USA bomb everybody, but it's them who deserve to be bombed

Actually, it's the poor people who appreciate the difference between living in a rich country and a poor one.

The rich elite live in their own universe; it doesn't matter which country.
The middle class has varying degrees of comfort.

But a poor person in the developed world will have much better social services: free education, health care (US has MedicAid), subsidized housing, etc.

In this case, the poor have to fight for socialism. Then they would have access to all the achievements of civilization - better education, medicine, strong unions, a guarantee of employment, etc., etc..

OK, if you are comparing where a country lies on the capitalism v/s socialism spectrum, that's a different debate.

I thought (from your examples of India, Africa, Ukraine) that you were just comparing rich v/s poor countries.

I'm just saying that poor people in their society - outcast. It does not matter what country you're poor - you feel equally miserable and rejected by society.
Nobody will make happier the fact that somewhere in Latin America, the poor eat less hamburgers.

Yes, I would agree with that.

There are one fact many had not consider

In America, proverty line were calculated on the basis of net income, ie how much you earn as an individual or family

Problem is, thing is not like how it's seems, if you had family history have a home or what not and you don't travel much, earning 24k a year is actually quite comfy life if you ask me

If living and travel is already taking care of, only eating and dressing is required, earning 24k is more than enough for you to have supersized Big Mac Meal all day every day

Then you are also looting at federal benefit like Medicare and food stamp, in fact I know a lot of people make themselves under the proverty line so their life is a lot easier

Living under proverty line for us only mean you are lazy, it does not mean you are poor, infact, in most cases, it's the opposite...

Then what prompted you to say this...

I am always surprised when people say that to be homeless beggars in the U.S. or Europe is better than being homeless beggars in Asia or Africa.

Who said that being homeless in the US is better than being homeless in Asia or Africa?

Although being homeless means being poor, it does not reciprocate and I responded to the article by saying that being poor in America is better off than being poor in much of the world. So how did you came up with homelessness from MY comment when you said 'when people'? Who are these 'people' in this discussion?

Buddy, I could tell you to look at your own Russia before you start criticizing US but then it would be useless since you need our problems to escape your own.

If I have said it from your post , I would have quoted your post.
Mostly I wrote about the homeless because at the beginning of the thread at the photo - homeless .
More than once I 've met the opinion that it is better to be poor in America or Europe than in the rest of the world .
And I say that being at the bottom of the social ladder in any society - bad. If you are poor in America - mean you are poor in America (I do not mean you , but a person at all). You have a poor man's life and problems of the poor man. And the people around you look at you as a poor man .
And what will you say to yourself and to them that somewhere in Sierra-Leone poor live worse? . It will not make you richer, happier, not raise your status in your country.

This is funny, as usual...

If you actually exercise critical thinking, you would have recognize that the photo is meant to induce shock and if you actually READ the article, you would have recognize that the photo have next to no relation to the article.

And that opinion is from many, including Russians who have been to America.

But being poor, aka on the bottom of the wealth ladder, have many gradations, just as there are gradations in the middle class and in the rich.

The main concern with threads like this one is not to induce intellectual discussions but to poke US in the eye, simple as that. Since this is an internationally accessible forum, non-Americans who actually lived in the US laughs at threads like this and at those who joined in into the baseless and ignorant criticisms of US.

Oh that is weird :-)Communism in pakistan ,usually communists are atheist.

Islamic socialism - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Much of Socialism in Pakistan today accedes to the idea of Islamic left (socialism and communism), where the state would be run in a socialist set-up consistent with Islamic political principles,

Additionally Islamic Socialism can effectively counter the Sect-based Religious Extremism in Pakistan .

You know, I, too, laugh with articles which is written in the West about Russia. And even more so - about the Soviet Union.
But there are some facts that can be concluded.
The difference between rich and poor in the United States reached a historic high since the Great Depression.
The number of poor and homeless is growing.
Middle-class incomes are reduced as the number of the middle class.
