India is caught by the balls in this issue; it cannot do really anything other than slightly tightening the tap. Almost all major Pakistani rivers other than Chenab and Ravi originate in China. China put India into its place when Modi was talking about 'mulling' the IWT only to back off.

Makes one wonder why you signed the treaty with India in the first place ....... you should have signed the IWT with China.

Well there is no second opinion that the war is imminent between Pakistan and India. I am not in favour of war but unfortunately when you don't have water to drink, you will be running after each other in quest to obtain first right on the last drop of water

The problem is, the population of subcontinent is growing fast and it will be even worse by 2030 when the population have swelled to lets say 1500 milion vs 250 million. The only solution to prevent or postpone such scenario is by building more n more dams and by working together to create awareness in both nations and preserve melting water from himalayas

China has no design to dam the upstream water of Indus river. If Indians play dirty and politisize water usage against Pakistan China would find a way to manipulate the waters. Chinese do things more quickly than Indian would imagine！

And Practically, china can not do $hit , because only 2 of the 6 Indus rivers originate in China, rest 4 originate in India.

The two rivers originating in China, they too have majority of their catchment areas in India.

Has any one ever succeeded in making a river flow upstream instead of downstream ? How would you make rivers flow from a plateau to, up the worlds highest mountain range and then into Pakistan ?

The upstream waters do not flow in India but Kashmir. If we can not divert the water into Pakistan we could simply divert it to northern part of China.
