Indonesia to increase imports from India amid New Delhi - Malaysia spat

Religious agenda is never a part of Indonesia's foreign policy despite of Indonesia being the largest muslim country in the world. Our current foreign policy clearly states that we will pursue economic diplomacy to strengthen trade ties and access emerging markets. If, based on our calculation, we find trading with India is beneficial to our national interest, then why not?

@Nike
source is reuters, its a credible worldwide news source. And they r talking about palm oil specifically that india stopped buying from malaysia thanks to their statements and stand about Kashmir and being on our side of that conflict......

If india is trying to use that old spat between malaysia and indonesia shouldnt you guys also think beyond money and trade too for the sake of betterment of the ummah, as Kashmir and Palestine both are the main issues facing ummah and betterment of the larger co-operation within Asia among our own Asiatic Countries.......

And what does this move tells us all about the future of Pakistan indonesia relation? considering we were the same people who came to yr time of need during that war against Dutch

You expect others to think beyond money and trade but same time you supply offensive weapons to Myanmar like JF 17 cunningly ignoring rohingyas and the fact that those can be used against another Muslim country Bangladesh.... You expect everyone to sacrifice for you when your self you don't even care to attend a summit of nation who stood behind you....
Indonesia will off course take care of its own national interests than supporting Pakistan who has nothing to offer in return...

KID! FIRST OF ALL NEVER QUOTE ME UNNECESSARY

or else im gonna report yr *** asap! second of all, we didnt sold myanmar jf17 nor do myanmar jf17 has anything to do with ummah, kashmir or palestine issue! These two r the issues which r the barrier of the rise of the Asiatic Countries and for the internal co-operation between them all!!!!!!!

.
They are not idiots like Malays.... Cosing up with Pakistan will give them nothing.... Same pak couldn't even return the favor to Malaysia by attending their summit..... Trade wise it simply can't substitute India....

However I don't trust Indonesia too.... They eye our Andaman Nicobar islands since long time.... They claim that those islands belong to Indonesia.... They are quite capable of snatching those islands if they decide to capture Andaman Nicobar as they are far away from mainland India and very close to Indonesia.... Hope India and Indonesia friendship is not spoiled over those islands...

Who are you trying to fool?

India, Philippines, Vietnam, Singapore and Indonesia are working together against China, Pakistan & Malaysia.

then what this means for the future of pak indo relations? considering that our own sons had died fighting for you and for yr liberation war against the dutch......even though there is hardly any benefit Pakistan gets from indonesia at all. Secondly we train the indo forces to this day! yr soldiers come to our academies and graduate, we do bilateral training exercises on counter terrorism fronts too and pakistan gives indonesia experience in counter terrorism given how much DAESH is expanding its footprint in indonesia!

And for the sake of indonesia we didnt favor chinese stand on South China Sea!

I have one interesting observation..In this palm oil episode, SCMP which may be a Chines newpaper, publishes many articles that will sound positive vibe foe Indian audience..
SCMP is owned by Jack Ma. His alibaba has investments in India. He unlike Jeff Bezos (Amazon/ Washington Post) doesn't want to rock the boat particularly when it has nothing to do with China. Chinese are pretty practical that way.

@OsmanAli98

Remember I said to you a year ago the idea of Muslim brotherhood doesn't exists because every state pursues it own interests? This is a prime example of Indonesia giving the Kashmiri's the middle finger for monetary gain. But when it comes to Pakistan everyone wants us to do more and criticize China. The bigger the arrogance the bigger the fall. This is why people on this forum will continue to remain arm chair politicians while people in power use pragmatism to achieve the goals of Pakistan.

The situation is more complicated than what you think. At that time, there was no Pakistan as a country and it was British that sent the soldiers coming from Hindu, Sikh and Muslim backgrounds. The purpose was to examine the opportunity whether it could replace the Dutch to colonize Indonesia or not, with the British Indian soldiers at stake.

But alongside these graves are also other graves which catch my eye. They seem out of place. Desi names strike me the most in the Hindu and Sikh section because so many of them lie as unnamed soldiers and, in the Muslim section because so many were teenagers.

Everything about the British presence in the archipelago was ambiguous and eventually brought no real benefit to anyone, especially Britain. In the course of their two-year occupation, the British frequently sided with either the Dutch or the Indonesians. They had vowed to be neutral and, in a sense, they were — by the sum total of their involvement. But more than 1,000 of their soldiers never returned; most of these came from the subcontinent.

Indian soldiers were sympathetic to the Indonesian national cause. The sympathy partly came from a sense of bitterness caused by “the cold foreign, contemptible and disgraceful attitude of Dutch men and women.”

Nevertheless, we are thankful for the British Indian army trying to fight the Dutch. Though it was not for Indonesia as a newly born country, but at least it gave the Dutch a little difficulty.

Only the Muslim from British Indian Army who fought for Indonesia, majority of British Indian army are in the side of Dutch and British.

British Indian army consisted of all faiths. British Indian Army fought in WWI, WWII and many other British wars. British Indians (current day Pakistan, India, Bangladesh & Myanmar) did not have much choice.

Any credible and reliable source?

It is so clear that almost all British Indian Army is in the side of British and Dutch. Your claim saying that British Indian Army are all revolting and change side to Indonesia is not true. Actually only 600 who are changing side.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

During the Indonesian National Revolution, Muhammad Ali Jinnah encouraged Muslim soldiers serving in British Indian army to join hands with Indonesians in their fight against the Dutch Imperial colonisation of Indonesia. As a result, 600-Muslim soldiers of the British Indian Army deserted the colonial forces putting their lot at stake, and allied with Indonesians.[4] Out of these 600 soldiers, 500 of them died in war; while the survivors returned to Pakistan or continued to live in Indonesia. As a recognition of the assistance of Muslim soldiers from Pakistan, during the Indonesian Golden Jubilee celebration on August 17, 1995, Indonesia granted Independence War Awards to the living ex-Pakistani soldiers and awarded the highest honor Adipura to the founding father of Pakistan Mohammad Ali Jinnah and the government of Pakistan.[5]

Pakistan's relationship with Indonesia greatly developed under Gen. Ayub Khan. During the Indo-Pakistani War of 1965, Indonesia offered to provide Pakistan with military help, and 'to seize Andaman and Nicobar Islands' of India so as to distract it from the Kashmir front.[6][7]
