Indo-US strategic pairing has failed: Chinese report

Russia is not Ernstwhile USSR so it is also looking for strategic partners in Asia and already there is a partnership between ONGC and Gazprom. These oil companies already ventured into Vietnam and drilling for oil. ONGC also working closely with Russsia's Gazprom in far east Russia.

Russia also have fears regarding the demographic change in its Siberia and far east regions which are closer to China.

Gazprom may soon enter the Indian ocean through Sri Lanka..

China thinks for itself and are quite selfish and nationalistic about it, they have long term plans and have chalked out an elaborate plan for domination, their present target is the US and Japan followed by the rest. For all practical purposes China and India are on opposite camps, both us will not say as much but thats the fact. So any alliance with them is a lie. They are just being opportunistic about it so that no anti china alliance builds up. China will confront India one day, make no mistake about it, India will have to tackle China that day and how we do that and how we get supported depends on the decisions that we take at this present time. This is a decisive moment for us and we can hope that we are on the right track.

That is what precisely to be taken care, but how? We should mend our ties with Pakistan without US backing and influence try to find working/amicable relationship whosoever comes in power in Afghanistan. CAR and Russia are very important so as West Asia and North Africa. US and EU are in declining phase, there influence in International order will reduce in the years to come. BRICS, SCO are good options and India is weighing them all but anti China syndrome in our think tanks mindset is the biggest obstacle to cahlk out something concrete.

Technically speaking India is of not much use to USA other than economic relations. They both are trying to hard to come close on their own,but there is no natural tendency here.

Economics is everything.
Thats where Pakistan was wrong in its alliance with the US and will probably be wrong with China too, Pakistan always looked for handouts and aid from them.

I would say we should leave the Mullah's alone, they are in too much of a mess and getting radicalised and killing each other for now.

Our look East policy is the best and should concentrate on it.

There is nothing called Indo-China and never will be, in contrast there will always be Indo Japan, Indo Aus, Indo French, Indo russ, Indo US etc.

Look east Primarily focus on ASEAN and SK, Japan, beside trading (more of Imports) we do not have much scope there SK,Japan are on saturation stage, again Indonesia and Malaysia are predominately Islamic states . The most scope for expansion is in CAR , North Africa and West Asia where positive growth trajectory will go on for coming decades..

What do you mean by saturation stage? there's nothing called death of a country and the Far East is not filled with crazies and terrorists for it to get destroyed like for e.g. Iraq, Lybia, Syria or some such. The only danger there emanates from China and North Korea and you know quite well on whose side we are.

As for North Africa, CA, ME, AFG-PAK there's too much turmoil, radicalization, revolutions, sectarian violence, Killings etc going on that we can do well to stay far far away from this mess becuase we have a sizeable Muslim population who could be exposed and get radicalized too if we come establish too much contact with these elements. For e.g, Saudi investments in India a portion of which could go to the Madrasas , Jamaatis, sectarian extremists and rezakars in India and they start blowing themselves up too as they are doing in other countries.

We should wait it out till the turmoil ends or some semblence of normality comes in those areas.

We dont need alliances with any nation....

We have to develop our nation first and then think about world politics

We don't put US's interest over our interests. China is or neighbor and we trade over $ 60 billion and efforts are made to push it to $ 100 billion by 2015.

Both India and China knows that hostility among two most populous countries is detrimental. After all we share border with each other, US is thousands of miles away.

India, as always will take steps according to its national interest.

Exactly, India being a developing country needs to focus on progress rather than being exploited by USA to serve her interests and risk at losing what India has accomplished. For India, her interests are best served if she keeps the relations with USA, confined to economics only.

If one follows the Indo US bilateral discussions thats been going on from a decade you will know that it encompasses much more than only economics.

How, explain? How is Indian Geo strategic location Important for USA? Other than being used to counter China(which isn't in Indian interests), what else can India do for USA?

One can't change neighbors so it is idiotic for India for being in dispute with China and vice versa. Its emerging super power and working together for stability of the region is in our best interest. After all its matter of 2.5 billion people out of 7 billion total humans.

Actually reality is quite different. India cares about its National Interest just like any other country, whether its US, Russia, China or EU countries.

Excellent,Good to hear that United States has Kicked India.:pakistan:

@KRAIT, there cannot be any other interests with China other than trade or investments. Any other relation with China directly clashes with interests of all our other partners. And they are NOT INTERESTED in anything else to do with India neither we are..their strategic goals are a direct clash with ours. Both of us cannot afford a direct conflict but both of us are preparing ourselves for such an enventuality in the future.
