wall or no wall.
we should live in peace.
Para-site, this is a great article, and I can understand why Hindus feel bitter towards Muslims in general, it's because of the acrimonious history shared between them. And no matter how much India tries to deny this, in the form of 'secular India', the fact is that Hindus still feel that animosity and mistrust towards Muslims today, not fully unjustified because of the bloody history between the two.
Muslims are the largest minority in India with about a 150-160 million Indian Muslims, so India has no choice but to show itself as a secular nation. If there is no animosity and discrimination towards Muslims, how would you explain that they are the most backward minority in India despite being the largest one? How would you explain why more than 2/3rd's of Indian Muslim women are uneducated? How would you explain almost the non-existent presence of Indian Muslims in the Indian army. Despite the few odd mouthpieces (President Azad, Shahrukh Khan etc), Muslims ON A WHOLE (especially the poor ones from UP and Bihar) face hostility from Hindus in secular India. How would you explain what happened in Bhagalpur, Ayodhya, Gujarat, Malegaon etc.
It is this hypocrisy of India that enrages Pakistanis. Pakistan is no angel (the leadership has done some horrible things), but at least it doesn't pretend to be one.

But before that, you have to do referendums in:
Arunachal Pradesh
Assam
West Bengal
Karnataka
Nagaland
Manipur
Punjab
Tamil Nadu
Andhra Pradesh (Telangana)
Tripura
All these places (and I'm sure many more) have separatist movements going on in them, have a referendum in each of them first, then we'll talk about Kashmir and Baluchistan.
To diffuse tension pakistan will have to give up the notion that religion defines a country .India on it part will have to give more because of being a bigger nation.
what if its not religion - what if its ethnicity?
Believe me, all these statements by politicians are just gloss. No one in India actually wants Pakistan, or anything to do with Pakistan. Most people would love to leave you thoroughly alone. We might be shining like a new penny, but still, we have thousands of problems of our own. We don't want some minor headaches to get converted into a permanent migraine.
